I hope not. I'm in STL and Bonds and McGwire are viewed as the same here. They made it sound as if Mac was gonna take the job and finally come clean about his past. That is yet to happen, I really don't get why they even made that move to make him a coach. Only bad things can happen IMO. It was only a year or two ago LaRussa said he wanted Bonds to be on the team. Why does he keep putting that era on our doorstep?

Looks like it has been confirmed that Jeter will no longer the most famous Bachelor. Jellybeans will be ticked that Minka is no longer available. I think we all knew it was coming.

Not that I care about his personal life, but since the source is the NY Post, I'm not buying the rumors. Jeter has stated before that he wouldn't get married until after he retires, and even though he could've changed his mind, the date doesn't seem very believable.

I have trouble believing this either. First, like you said, it's the NY Post, a glorified tabloid. Second, as the manager of the supposed wedding venue states, they wouldn't use a celebrity's real name in booking the wedding. I also agree that the date seems pretty unbelievable. We're supposed to believe that Derek Jeter, a player on the Yankees, a team that is the defending world champion and a favorite in 2010, is scheduling his wedding on a date that could be during the World Series? Sorry, not buying it, seems like yet another case where the Post is taking the smallest shred of evidence and trying to make it a big story.

If I had the choice of going in as a member of one of the nation's most beloved teams or a team that doesn't exist anymore, I'd probably want to go in with the beloved team as well.

Well, you knew it was coming seeing that he's taken a hitting coach position with the Cards. He knew that there was no longer a way for him to keep ducking the press, and to be honest, it's best that he does this now to get all of the attention, questions, press conferences, etc. out of the way, before the season starts.

Bonds definitely won't be admitting it anytime soon since he was indicted for perjury for saying under oath that he never knowingly took performance enhancing drugs.

I'm a Cardinals and Braves fan but I don't think I can pull for the Braves this year. I just don't see any improvements. Ever since Ted Turner left it seems like the upper office doesn't want to win anything and when they do make a move it's to late. They have a real good farm system but they ship them off. I don't want to say it but it looks like we're becoming the Pirates.
