Default If I was a hd dvd supporter I would be worried...

why would I be worried? The nielson numbers haven't skewed their way at all since paramount move was supposed to save their asses. I remember hearing them say that the paramount deal WOULD start to sway the sales to their side. Has that happened NO.

Some of the things blu has on their side:
1) The PS3 price drop. They will sell easily 1m this holiday season world wide.
2) Blu exclusives. This being an important time for both camps, you would think they would bring out the big guns? Has HD DVD done this? NO. One of the biggest factors as to why is because the exclusive studios for their format failed to deliver on their promise. Could it be because they are leaning on switching sides or going neutral? Only time will tell. Has Blu deliverd? YES. If you look at the releases from today to the end of the year they got a strong lineup. This will keep the sales to a 2:1 ratio.
3) Blu is selling more of duel releases of WB. Now everyone has heard the rumors of the big disparity in prices it costs to produce the movies but I don't think there is a big difference now. With blu selling 2:1 on duel format releases for WB, if and I say IF WB were to go exclusive blu would be the format they would pick
4) Paramounts blunder. Now we all know paramount is capable of putting lossless tracks on their HD movies they continue not to. Plus with the huge Jack Ryan collection blunder they actually could be helping blu more than we think.
5) AQ and PQ issues. YES YES...the big debate we have all heard many times. IF transformers the biggest blockbuster for the HD DVD side didn't have the best AQ it could have had you have to know there is some issue with space on the HD DVD discs. Blades of Glory for blu was going to have lossless so why the hell if space wasn't an issue would they not put it on transformers.

The old saying is certainly true. "Competition is good for business."

Monopolies always hurt the public and always will. Look at Microsoft, each new Operating System gets bigger, bulkier and require more ram and processing power. In EVERY case with Windows, the O/S never run well on the lowest common denominator hardware. It always a generation or three of new hardware to make it look effortless.

HD-DVD does have pretty good quality but Blu is better not just in quality, also in scratch-resistance and more memory. The more memory the better it gets.

Because all HD DVD only supporters are hallow, soulless, empty voids of people who are doomed to spend their lives enjoying a subpar format only to pass on to the afterlife and float in the eternally barren existence that is limbo.

And if I were the owner of HD-DVD, I would sell the products and come up with something better than Blu

Not too long ago, I was at Best Buy and saw some people looking at HD-DVD and initially bought some. And all I did was nod my head in sorrow

If I have to boil my disc to get it to play properly I would hardly consider that "good quality".

If I was an HD-DVD supporter in all honesty I would have sold off my HD-DVD player by now. The numbers speak for themselves YTD Blu with 66% of the movies sold and then HD-DVD with only 34%. Also this weeks Blu dominance of 71:29. HD-DVD owners have to realize they are fighting a loosing battle.

PLUS: Blu-ray has gotten a new exclusive Studio: New Line Cinema...

I know the titles are only exclusive for a limited time period, but I think this is pretty important. No format releasing there titles 4-5 month after the DVD version could ever compete with DVD.

Blu-ray can....................

Steven Spielberg & his crew need to get on the right boat and stop supporting HD-DVD. There are several reasons why Paramount & Spielberg still support HD-DVD and reason is: They feel sorry for them, they're doing it just for the money, or they just don't care

Yeah...

...

Steven Spielberg hates HD DVD. His films were excluded from the Paramount deal and he won't release his Universal films either.
