Well I think Boondock Saints is one of the most horrible movies of all time so no comment there.

I wouldn't compare it to anything. I judge all movies based on their own individual qualities and merits. My recommendation would just be to read the reviews and see if they sway you one way or another. The film got mostly positive reviews.

Saw this over the weekend and, to my surprise, I loved it (for some reason the wife thought it was just ok).
Some of the skater names were hilarious - my favorite was Axles of Evil.

The only gripe I have with the movie is that, with the title "Whip It," how can they NOT use the song in the soundtrack?
I know the title refers to a derby move, but c'mon, how great would it have been to see a montage of derby action set to Devo's classic?

At first I thought that too, but then I realized the song wouldn't really fit anywhere in the movie, and I ended up being glad that they didn't go for that really obvious, lame gag.

I'm a guy and I loved Whip It. They aren't the same, but I do think you'll like this if you liked Juno (I loved that one too).

I agree with Frothy's description of how the comedy was in the movie, although it did have a few laugh out loud parts for me thrown in. I'm having trouble thinking of a movie to compare this to, but if I ever think of one, I'll post again.

You're welcome, and Fox should give me a commission for helping with the sale.

Moon and Zombieland are both considered good movies, but it would depend on if both movies are the kind of movies you enjoy. I would assume they are since you have interest in them. I haven't seen either, but I have Zombieland arriving from Amazon tomorrow as a blind buy.

Default Whip It...Why no talk about it?

Ok so I saw a trailer for Whip It and thought it looked kinda cool. So today I picked up Zombieland and Whip It. Watched Whip It and it was really good. Quite humorous and Ellen Page is kinda cute. That and I guess I have thing for Roller Derby Girls in general even though they can kick my ass. But it is a good movie. Anyone else check it out?
