When I first heard the phrase "blu ray"....I felt intrigued. Like what is this "blu ray"...I need to find out. Whereas when I first heard the phrase "HD DVD", to me it sounded like more of the same. Because of this, I dont think people will rush to adopt technology that feels like a more exspensive version of a technology they're already using.

By adopting blu ray technology...to me....it felt like I was taking a bigger leap forward. to something newer. something different. something better.

Now, of course i did NOT choose this format based solely on it's namesake (I did my homework like everybody else). But I do feel like the name played a part in catching my attention.
