Release by CJ Entertainment. Both tentatively scheduled for April 30, 2010. No specs. Very good chance TGWLTT will have English subs as the Korean DVD did. Summer Wars is a maybe on English subs.

Interesting. I wonder, since they're CJEnt releases, if they'll have spine numbers. I'll definitely get them though. I've been wanting to see both for a long time now.

japanese BD for summer wars is only a month before this korean release...
yes, the korean dvd of "leapt" had english subtitles - the first release to do so, at the time - but a BD rerelease might still be different. still, nicely spotted and glad to hear of the possibility.

I have a feeling, like Thirst, a premature date was given out and it never materialized. I don't think it is going to make the 4/30 release.

Korean BD sites are reporting that the actual release dates for these have not been announced. Date of June 30th is just a place holder guess by one of the internet retailers.

suppose there's always guessing going on. i've found korean dates often shift around until last minute. sometimes, or often, releases are set and revealed at short notice. even if it is late june, guess this brings it ever closer to USA & UK releases (august, september) so removes a lot of it's draw.

It looks like the Korean Summer Wars DVD is getting a release date of 6/17/2010, and no Blu-ray on that date.

The Korean DVD also appears to NOT be English friendly, listing only Korean and Japanese subs. So unless the Blu-ray is different, it appears that the Korean Summer Wars will not be an English friendly alternative if it comes out on Blu-ray. There is still some hope for Tokikake however.

Not looking good. The UK Summer Wars was also delayed to 2011!

i know where the OP was trying to come from with this logic, but, yeah it really means nothing between dvd and BD releases. the R2J (no US release that i know of) release of brave story had subs, but the Japanese BD did not, and we share same region for BD, not so with dvd. not sure if it is b/c it did not sell really well, so they just said screw it, or what, but obviously they had a working script, it just needed configured to the BD.
