Default Power Supply, New or Used.

Couldn't really find a topic on this. Just ordered Onkyo 7200 and was curious about what people thoughts are about Monser power centers. I like the Monster surge protectors with some cleaning abilities. Just asking for people's thoughts. Found a few on ebay that are out of the box but new. Didn't know if it would be worth it to save some money buying out of the box.

Been looking at the Monster Power HTS 950 and 1000. Really cannot afford right now a nice big power center but can afford one of these. On ebay a few people are selling them kinda like opened item or new but no retail packaging/paperwork. Basically asking people for opinion whether it would be worth it to buy used one or sorta new one but no paperwork.

i would say its up to you. for me it depends on the warranty. unless theyre authorized dealers they may not give much of a warranty besides doa units. so for me, i would either purchase a refurb from an authorized dealer, or buy new.

Well my thought exactly, at least I knew if it came in sealed plastic then I wouldn't think their would be any problems with warranties or anything else along those lines.

I have a Monster HDP2400 and I am very, very happy with it. I don't just say that, because words are cheap, but I had an actual experience that otherwise could have fried my entire system.

I had some static buildup on my person (didn't know obviosuly) and went to touch one of my components. I felt and saw the discharge and immediately the Monster unit turned everything off and shut down. It came back on after a second or so. I was really worried about how the components were affected by this and was scared to turn them back on, but I had to of course.

Everything was perfect! What a relief. So yeah, I have every faith in these products by Monster.

Got the HDP 900G today. Told girlfriend the 2400 will be next purchase. I am getting my own room and will have to move electronics around, but want the protection the 2400 offers.
