That's Tron Legacy, the new sequel. According to rumor (posted by a Disney insider on a Disney Facebook fan page), the Blu-ray of the original 1982 film, is due in November.

Not crappy, but flawed.
The HD special screening they did last year was terrible.
This upcoming blu-ray will feature a third HD transfer.

Is this confirmed? If it is, I see no reason as to why the new Blu coming out in November shouldn't look fantastic.

Oh, ok. I never saw the older one, but from what I have heard it wasn't that good. I remember seeing it a few years ago on cable and asking myself, "what happened?". It was the worst I had ever seen it. The blue characters were almost white and the red ones were pink. Blacks weree nonexistant. This new transfer(?) was a lot better in the color department IMHO. If they are going to make improvements on this, needed ones anyway, I will be impatiently awaiting this release.

HDNet started doing interruptions during movies about 6mos back, HDNet Movies does not. There was in fact a break during the Tron broadcast.

As far as Tron's PQ went, I hope it looks better on Blu than it did on HDNet, because it looked like shit. It's the worst transfer I've ever seen on HDNet by far.

Never confuse HD cable with Blu-ray--Cable doesn't do Restoration.

Anyone else wish they'd give "TRON" a 'Michael Dudikoff Cyber-Ninja' limited collector's set? I think it's long overdue, and to this day, it's my feeling that the only reason his role was so limited in the film, was because they knew that if they'd teamed him up with Flynn, Tron, and Ram, it'd have been way too easy for them to have defeated Sark and the M.C.P.

Honestly, the other three guys could've just kicked back and drank computer-beer, while watching and enjoying Dudikoff, as he obliterated all the bad programs by 'slicing and dicing' them with his glowing, electronic-katana sword...

Great, a whole thread devoted to asking people if they do drugs.

... ahem, I can't wait for the new Tron film, and the old one on blu-ray in November.

I wasn't joking...I'm serious...Michael Dudikoff did in fact appear in "TRON"...he's credited as 'Michael J. Dudikoff II' and played one of the Conscripts...if you watch the scene where Flynn and the rest of the Conscript programs are addressed by Sark, Dudikoff is standing right next to Flynn...he also pushes Flynn from behind to move him on, after Flynn stops to watch 'Tron' playing the 'disc' game, asking the conscript in front of him "hey, who's that guy?" no joke...check it out at IMDB...

I sure hope he reprises his role in "Tron Legacy." With Dudikoff on Flynn's side, there's no way any program in cyberspace will stand a chance!

Is Disney actually releasing "Tron" in November?
or will this be one of those typical Disney disappearing acts we all know and love so well.
anybody know?

I think he's talking about the release of the original movie on Blu-ray in November prior to Tron Legacy hitting theaters. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

releasing the bd of the original film that everyone claims they were releasing in November.
they don't seem to have announced it, but people have been saying all year that this was the plan.

Not saying you're wrong because none of us know for sure, but I think it would make much more sense for them to release the original before Tron Legacy comes out in theaters.
