haha....yeah I know...it looks so pretty on my shelf, can't wait to add more. But no, I'm only going to get steelbooks for movies I actually enjoy and that I don't already own in standard casing. Those are my rules, to keep me from becoming a junkie. I don't trust myself, though. Let's see if I can actually adhere to my own rules.

Congratulations! Rules get revised - I think we all started off with some pretty restrictive rules. Many of mine are still in place, but many others have been sacrificed at the SB alter. Good luck!

I think those rules might last for 2 weeks and then they will be out the window. BTW, welcome to the *cough* SteelBook club Buckle up it will be an expensive, but fun ride

Stick to your rules

Only buy decent movies and unwrap and watch them. They still look good on the shelf without the wrappers.

Keeping them wrapped means you can't watch them. What kind of movie fan would do that

The only reason I ask is because I didn't know if you guys look at these things like investments or something....like maybe in the future, the value of them would go up after they go out of print, and they could be worth more in plastic. If thats not the case, then I'm going to tear open every one of them lol.

While I have everyones attention, I might as well ask...where can I get a decently-priced NL Clone Wars steel? The only one I've seen was on Amazon and its going for $150. Yeah, no.

Personally, I am a sealed collector, but I do not keep them sealed because I look at them as investments, but rather because I look at them as collectibles.

I agree that they are movies and they would be great to watch, but I put that right up there with how great it would be to read a Spider-man no. 1 comic .... would be awesome, but if I had it, the comic, I still wouldn't do it.

Some steelbooks are not orth the "steel" used to create them, but others are rare and highly valued, in terms of desire to own, collectibles, but at the end of the day, do what ever makes you feel good inside

Cheers

Ya, open them up. I only buy ones of movies that I like and then watch them. Although it is really annoying when you start to see the flaws in them.

Funny how I see the OCD group, as you call it, presenting opinions and other information, but leaving the OP free to make his own call about them without any pressure, maybe some humour, to pick one side or the other, but your opinion has to be screamed, virtually, at the top of your lungs ...... maybe it is not the OCD completist sealed collectors who are on the dark side of the force.

Just my $0.02 and my opinion

Cheers

It all depends on what your collecting them for. If you just want a cool case for movies you like then by all means open them and watch them. If you are collecting them for resale or as collectors items then i would be more wary about opening them. Ultimitaly it is your call.

[Show spoiler]DON'T OPEN THEM!!!!
