The component cables that you bought will only deliver 1080i. The only way to get 1080p is through an HDMI or DVI cable. Now the 2nd cables that you posted are VGA, you might be able to get 1080p, however in order for a signal to go over VGA it must be converted into Analog, then converted back to digital, so there is always a possibility of data loss. I think that your best bet will be to go with what you have right now. When your XBox dies you can get a new one with an HDMI cable.
