Original 360 gets 1080p/HDMI cable? - Blu-ray Forum

Can this be real (I'm thinking it's not)? If it is, why didn't they do that in the first place?

They didn't do it in the first place because M$ said 1080P wasn't necessary. Only after the PS3 came out did they update the console to 1080P and then of course cam out with the Elite for HDMI functionality.
