Brian, were the posters you received from Disney Rewards double-sided or single-sided? I am curious if they are the official theatrical versions or if they have a small print run made up with small differences on them exclusive to the club. On their Wall-E one, they stated the size was 27x38, not sure if that was an error on their part, or if it was that side, as the originals were 27x40. Curious how your posters are...

Zero, that image IS the advance style, the one that was controversial because of the Anti-Government tag line at top. They are getting increasingly hard to find, I believe I have a few left in stock. Yes, originally the film was scheduled to come out in November 2005, the marketing had slowly begun in the late summer, even an image was released online of what some believed would have been a poster, but wasn't, it was just a glimpse, a teaser image, and not an actual poster. Late that year the advance style was released, and then the film was released in March 2006. I enjoyed the film, having read the original 12 issue maxi-series when it originally was released in the 80's.

Also, I was debating asking one of the moderators if we can make an entire new thread/sub-heading on the Blu-ray forum, meaning a stand alone thread in a stand alone section devoted just to movie posters, so more people can see this thread or a possible new one as I would suspect all here are fans of movies, and many would be interested in posters for their theater rooms, etc. What does everyone think of that?

i knew that something was weird with the poster/movie. If I remember they pushed the movie back because someone tried to bomb someplace . I could be wrong. I had one at one point but gave it to a friend. I got tired of looking at it. LoL. Now I am kicking myself. I can live without it. Its just another want.

There was speculation it was pushed back because there was a bombing in the UK over that summer, so people assumed it was pushed back because of it to early the next year, and that could be true, but the filmmakers had said they needed more time for some special effects. Who knows for sure really. Regarding the posters, its unlikely I can get anymore, once I sell out, I am out. I have the final style in stock, only a few remain, the advance I need to check, I think I still have some, but still checking my inventory.

Here are my thoughts about the Disney Rewards posters. As you can see some of the posters they have listed are "mini" sizes, some are DVD posters, and some they claim are original movie posters. The real question is, are they double-sided authentic movie posters, OR are they single sided originals? Most studios print up movie posters that are single sided which they give out at screenings, conventions, promotions such as this one, etc. I would have to assume that the posters they are offering, while original, are more than likely single-sided and not double-sided, so the value of them if they are in fact single-sided is far less than their double-sided counterparts. Disney original double-sided movie posters are incredibly hard for poster dealers and collectibles a like to obtain, so I find it quite odd that they would be offering double-sided ones, especially for Alice in Wonderland via their rewards program.

If someone does check with them, inquire if that poster for Alice, or others, are double-sided or single-sided. Chances are you will get a customer service representative who won't understand what you are asking, but simply ask if the poster is double-sided meaning the image is printed on the back of the poster as well.

One thing you need to be quite careful of when you order posters from places like this is how they package and ship a poster. Fan clubs, and studio sites like this that do offer posters generally have employees who work in a warehouse who simply take the poster and slide it into a tube, and that's it. No care is given at all, and generally the poster arrives quite damaged because of improper packaging, not because of carrier neglect, but that happens as well. I have heard plenty of horror stories from collectors who have ordered from places like this only to receive ripped posters, crumpled posters, etc all because they are tossed in a tube with no care at all about the product or the customer. A lot of those on eBay have this problem too those selling posters who have no clue what it is they are selling simply toss a poster in a tube and feel that is enough, not giving any thought to the abuse that tube takes during it's journey from the seller to the buyer.

Sometimes it is better to pay more from a dealer and know what you will be getting and know you will get it in the condition you expect. Just my thoughts...
