Just finished watching the film. The sound absolutely blew me away! I thought the picture quality for the most part was fantastic but did anyone else notice the scenes within the base were sometimes a little blurry? I think it might have something to do with shooting in 3d maybe some of the depth perception is a little wacky, but other than that by far one of the best looking Blu-Rays.

A 3.5 is perfect by the way. It is a good movie but there are some aspects that make me wince.

I feel its a 5.0 so thats all that matters to me anyway

Solid review by Casey...by his critique, I'm actually surprised the movie rating was as high as a 3.5

. I think one point in particular really stood out for me, the idea that if the people just didn't talk so much, it could have been a better film. Silence can be extremely powerful if used effectively (I always thought Terrence Malick was a master of incorporating silence into his movies, but like it notes in the review, Malick is not Cameron and Avatar is not the same type of film as The New World).

Either way, I'm sure Avatar will be to Blu-ray what The Matrix was for DVD.

Wow that took a while...jwbbud, is there anyway we can get reviews for major releases any earlier that 10:30pm eastern time on the day of the review. There was no problem doing reviews for lesser known films today.

The movie itself was lacking in character and storyline development, in my opinion. I still enjoy the movie. Maybe the sequel will fill in the proverbial gaps. I think it would be biased to call the storyline perfect, even if the PQ and AQ are, in my opinion 5/5.

And its why I continue to think that a Blu-ray review site like this one should only review the ''Blu-ray'' (quality, audio, supplements), the movie content rating is only their opinion (1 person) and its why sites like rottentomatoes (with consensus and hundred of critics) exist. Anyway! Its only my opinion

3.5 is the right score for the movie, wasn't amazing by any stretch of imagination, but I still enjoyed it and can't wait to watch it again on this supposedly amazing blu-ray disk!
