I picked it up today, too at Best Buy, along with a couple of other $9.99 movies.

The strange thing is, there was no indication at the store that any of the discs I bought were $9.99, but they rang up at the sale price. I mean, you think Best Buy would actually put signs up for the discs that are on sale, so they could actually SELL some.

What a place, what a place.

If this is $9.99 at Best Buy, I may have to head over there and check it out...

Yea, it is 9.99 at BB and at that price it is one HELL of a deal. The Technicolor looks amazing!

Pretty good old movie, wouldn't change much about it, so far. 4.5/5 for PQ, 2.5/5 for AQ.

Its really amazing what they did to restore this movie. Now I know it can be done w/others. This is my most favorite movie in the world. I own every edition that ever came out. When they finally remastered it on dvd a few yrs ago I couldnt believe it. Now on BR its outstanding, worth full retail.
I even have the HD copy. Thats originally why I went w/HD - Just because of this movie and Forbidden Planet. I know, I'm nuts.

If you ask me it is better. Definition in spots is incredible for such an old film.

Saw The Adventures of Robin Hood on TCM HD last week. Was surprised how much I enjoyed it... it's been many years and black and white analogue televisions do this film no justice. It's on my short-list for Blu. Got to get it; Errol Flynn was an Australian, born in Tasmania, land of convicts... he was born to play the role of Robin Hood.

I am not sure if somebody will read this, on a thread from a couple of years ago, but I've just got this movie, and there seemsa to be a glitch in the Technicolor featurette. Just 15 seconds into it (0:00:15), the image gets pixelated for a split second, accompanied by a rasping sound.

It is just my copy, or the whole press run? Should I get another copy, or it's no use bothering?

Oh, well, that's a pity, but no big deal, really.

Thank you very much for your prompt reply!

Analog TVs, yes.. but what do black and white TVs have to do with it? The film was shot in Technicolor..?

He's saying that that's how he first saw it --on a B & W analog TV -- and that it couldn't do it justice.
