Look, if looking at data means making rational decisions then Paramount wouldn't have gone exclusive based off of rational data facts. So, you kinda make my point.

Even though all indications are the blu ray is the way to go, the people that make the critical decisions like paramount, warner bros aren't using rational data to make these decisions.

Paramount was a stink bomb that took us all by surprise, we should be warry of others to come.

this is where you are being negative...

as long as we purchase the movies we want and BD keeps dominating HD-DVD on a weekly basis, there's nothing more we can do,..

why be a worry-wart all the time?...I am not scared of HD-DVD and their clearance price for the A2...and neither should you if you realize the strong backing that BD has...

Boring? Yea, thats why the thread has lasted all day.

Negative? I've admitted to being pesamistic, but I merely like to point out devils's advocate. I don't wear the blinders and can look at the bad and the good.

Trollish? I've got a few posts past trollish I believe.

Have you ever seen "Debbie Downer"? You remind me of her! I'm not saying that as an insult, just that we get this good news that not only does "Spider-Man 3" become one of the best selling titles on Blu-ray, but beats the first week sales for "Transformers" in six days, and yet you're telling us it could be better?!

You post a link to a website that is factually inaccurate by still claiming that DreamWorks sold 190 thousand of "Transformers" even though all evidence points to the contrary.

I consider myself somewhat pessimistic, as I too am concerned about $99 HD DVD players, and I'm somewhat concerned as to how sells will go for Warner's "Ocean" releases next week and the HP movies next month with HD DVD having fewer releases than Blu-ray, meaning that HD DVD owners could have more money to purchase these Warner Bros. releases.

That being said, there is a resemblance to "Debbie Downer", and those of us who used to post on AVSForum.com are way too used to having those kind of posts being WAY TOO prevalent whenever good news came around for Blu-Ray.

Oh, indeed Grasshopper. Indeed. Much to be "warry" of indeed. Especially some on here (hint, hint, wink, wink).

BTW, do you also go by the name of Wipron over at AVS?

Paramount made their decision based on payments, not based on sales data. You just lost total credibility in this thread. You were initially trying to say that the sales data for Spidey 3 were disappointing because they wouldn't get the attention of the studios then you suddenly shift to speaking about a studio decision that had nothing to do with s/w sales.

Learn to think clearly and be coherent for once. Would Paramount have stayed if some specific movie had sold just a little bit better? Get real.
