Alliance Titles 6/01/2010: The Red Violin, 6 more 3-packs

Another Alliance exclusive coming out on June 1st:
-The Red Violin

Another batch of 3-packs now listed @ 32.99, & will likely stay in the $30 range:
-Bon Cop, Bad Cop/De Pere en Flic(Father and Guns)/Cruising Bar 2
-Boogie Nights/Magnolia/Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
-A Perfect Getaway/The Strangers/The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
-Gangs of New York/The New World: Extended Cut/Apaloosa ('Gangs of New York' will likely be the 1st blu-ray release, as we have not seen the remastered yet in Canada)
-Trainspotting/Memento/Requiem for a Dream ('Requiem' will likely be the extras-less Canadian disc)
-Traitor/Fracture/Hostage

What sucks for me is that I already own a LOT of these that are now included in the 3-packs, & paid a hell of a lot more for 'em. I'd feel a little better if I had already had time to watch them all yet.

will be picking up the boogie nights one for sure
i want trainspotting and memento, but the requiem will be the canadian release, and the us versions pq is just far better than it, which really sucks
may pick up the one with texas chainshaw as well

Yeah, it's a shame we didn't get the Lionsgate transfer of Requiem yet, or the newer Gangs disc. I have at least 1 disc out of each of the 6 sets, so none of these are now up my alley(but would have been if they came out sooner!).

yea each will be in there own case, just like if u were to buy it separate
and all 3 are in a slipcover with the 3 movie titles on the front and spine

Hrmmmm... Was gonna buy Magnolia, but it's 20$... and I was planning on buying Boogie Nights soon or later so... Maybe I should buy this instead, especially since they're in individual case... And that would give me a good reason to watch Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind.

they are the exact same as the U.S releases

the only time alliance messes up a release is when they have the rights to release that title only in canada

All the same info as the US discs. Only worry about discs that are released in Canada that have no US release.

Oooh Red Violin. One of my fav movies. Hopefully, it's not crap. And includes the extras from the meridian package.

My copy of The Red Violin according to the package has DTS HD-MA, is 1080p & 1.78:1. I'll need to confirm this later. No extras unfortunately, but is only 14.99 @ HMV.

By the way, those 3-packs that came out today look very nice & are totally worth the $29.99 price tag for those interested.

The Red Violin does have DTS MA. You have to select it from the pop up menu. I have it.
