The goal was to have my gear all in one place so I could widen the fronts out.

I built this little riser for my center channel today with a shelf and five 4" wooden legs from home depot. I bought some felt for the bottom of the legs and some paint so they could be black like the shelf. Measured, drilled some pilot holes, screwed the legs in and I am in business. Cost me $27.

I think it turned out sweet. I also lengthened the curtain so it's all centered even though the window isn't that big haha. I think it turned out alright.

I'll get new pics up but I had to post one, I like it. The sound sure did open up a ton .

-dase-, Looks Super pal! Great work!

Another benefit of the riser is now the tweeters are all the same height across the front soundstage .

I thought I would post a few pics from the auto setup of the 4310ci. It has a bass leveling feature that you can use before you start so the sub will be better matched. I started with the gain set just under half way. You set the mic at the listening position on the trusty tripod and it runs a tone through your sub and measures the DB output so you can see where you're at in real time.

Gain is set too high:

Sub measurement begins, you can see I was about 10db hot:

Dialing in the gain on the sub in real time with the mic at the listening position :

Perfect and locked in:

With these you can also see a little of the GUI. It's awesome and easy to navigate and even overlays over your sources. All in all I have been very happy with this new AVR. I have tried nearly every feature and they all work well and are easy to get going. Firmware updates are a snap. I also like the usb port in the front, I can just plug a jump drive full of music in and start playing, no need to turn on the TV or the PS3, very convenient.

I haven't yet done a DSX setup. My preference would be to do the front wide setup but my room is not really wide enough for this so I will be putting front heights in later this year. I need to save for some bookshelf style speakers first.

Slow and steady, I'll just keep moving forward.

Oh, and thanks DB !

-dase-, Great job on showing the auto setup, and GUI pics, and the detailed explanation! Well done buddy! And you are very welcome! Again, Super nice setup, and slow and steady is always the best approach my friend! D.

Hey -dase-....thought I would bring your Gallery Thread back to life and to tell you that the new leather sectional looks great and adds soo much to that room. It looks like it was built for that room as it blends in so well. The room really has a welcoming feel to it and not to mention that it looks really comfy too. Very nice!!

Thanks Fors!

It took some time to find just the right sectional as to meet the needs and space requirements of the room, but I finally lucked out.

I had almost forgotten about this thread. It's kind of fun to look at the start of it and remember the changes.

Looks like I need to do some updating here.

And of course, anyone and everyone are always welcome to stop in for chat, feedback, suggestions, or whatever. This is truly a great forum community!

Yeah, a little "spring cleaning" to the thread couldn't hurt.

The Lawn has been mowed, the weeds are pulled. The grill is almost hot, the steaks are seasoned and ready. No work until Tuesday .

I hope everyone here has a happy and safe memorial weekend!

Thank You Sincerely -dase-.
I hope you and your family have one of the greatest holiday weekends in recent memory.

Also, nice move on the riser for your Center Speaker.I know it really must have made your system sound not just different, but better.

And,I may add;the set-up menu(OSD)for your Denon is Truly Impressive.
I knew there was some reason that many of the Higher-End Systems(Like Yours and Hammies to just name two) Used Denon. And also why Denon receives such high accolades and awards year in and year out.(Though also why they do cost more also)But they seem to be worth it.

I know their Pre/Pros are Highly Rated and sought after. With changing everything,I have had the desire to change my AVR.And -dase- my Friend. You have done a better job then any Audio Salesman.

Thanks for the posts and both the info and pics.

Have a Wonderful Holiday Weekend. And some Awesome Steaks.

Wow, I'm glad someone revived this thread. I love it. Speakers look amazing and that couch really adds to it. I love the darkness of the room. I wish I could have gone darker in mine but again, the girlfriend was having none of that.

Great work.

Go with the projector...it will do more for your HT than anything else you mentioned.

If I had to guess, I think it would be the Oppo 83...but I was telling eric this, that I find it hard to upgrade to it since my Panny BD-30 has been stellar, and it would seem to be a $500 upgrade to get SACD's and a few more bells and whistles that I am not sure if many mean all that much to me....but I keep reading how awesome it is, so of course I want one too.....
