Timur Bekmambetov has been linked to so many different projects we've run out of fingers to count them on. To clear things up in camp Bekmambetov, we had a chat with him about each one of them, and this is what we discovered.

Are you ready? Then we'll begin.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. "That one I’m prepping to direct myself. It is not a comedy at all – it is a very entertaining, epic history lesson for millions and millions of teenagers. If you remember Nightwatch, it is maybe in the vein of that kind of movie."

"We are keeping the traditional look of Lincoln – the big hat and the beard. He has to be historically correct, but with a few special weapons. There is only one book, but there will be many opportunities to develop and explore this world if we get to do sequels. I hope we will start this winter. We are shooting in America."

Wanted 2. "We are discussing Wanted 2 every month. We are working on it now, but I think it will be after Lincoln because James (McAvoy) is working on the X-Men: First Class… It’s why I decided to develop Lincoln without a studio, to keep control. It’s a big movie but independent too."

20,000 Leagues Under The Sea. "Yes, it is happening. We are in development with a writer and Ridley Scott’s people. It’s early in development. I would like to direct myself – it’s a great tale that I love from my childhood. It will be a modernised version of the famous book."

Moby Dick. "I’ve developed the whole world, but we’re still working on the script. To fight a supernatural creature, you need people with supernatural abilities. It’s the same story but with a different take, much more mystical. The whalers are not ordinary people, and yes, the whale will be done digitally."

Red Asphalt. "I am working on that with Lionsgate. It’s a movie about drunk driving… in 3D! 3D is the only way to recreate what you feel when you drink and drive."

"It’s my original idea – I wrote the treatment. Everyone drinks and drives once, and I want to make a horror movie about it. It’s one big car chase. People will feel what it’s like when you’re drunk and driving, and it’s really scary. The world is not exactly the same."

The Knights Templar. "That is a project I am developing with Universal. I wrote the treatment but it’s not something I am doing in the near future. It’s a great story, but… It’s why I’m producing, because there are too many stories. I have to give them to other people sometimes.

Twilight Watch*. "I hope it happens. It’s like first love – we created this world and now I’m watching the Twilight movies, I feel like we missed something by not doing Twilight Watch. Because there are a lot of ideas in those films that we were going to use. But we didn’t finish the story. It would be good to get around to it one day. "

The Last Witchhunter. "I am not working on that one. It was in discussion but is not happening now."

Black Lightning."We are talking with Universal about producing an English-language remake, but I am not directing it."

Fox picks up Abraham Lincolm: Vampire Hunter

After a lengthy purchase process, 20th Century Fox has landed the rights to the big screen adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith's Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.

Timur Bekmambetov is set to direct and produce from a script by Grahame-Smith. The studio was reportedly gung-ho about making the film, to be co-produced by Tim Burton, and "went all out to win rights to the project, giving a detailed pitch for the film's production, marketing and release," says Variety.

Fox will begin pre-production immediately as they've agreed to a $70 million budget and is planning a 2012 release, according to insiders.

I hope this doesn't take long to reach the silver screen, it sounds really awesome!!!

Timur Bekmambetov is set to direct and produce from a script by Grahame-Smith.

We know who's going to direct, I'm sure we'll be getting casting details before the end of this year and shooting will start summer next year

20th Century Fox has set a June 22, 2012 release date for Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, Seth Grahame-Smith's adaptation of his own novel to be directed by Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted). Bekmambetov will produce with Tim Burton and Jim Lemley.

The following is how publisher Grand Central Publishing describes the book:

Indiana, 1818. Moonlight falls through the dense woods that surround a one-room cabin, where a nine-year-old Abraham Lincoln kneels at his suffering mother's bedside. She's been stricken with something the old-timers call "Milk Sickness."

"My baby boy..." she whispers before dying.

Only later will the grieving Abe learn that his mother's fatal affliction was actually the work of a vampire.

When the truth becomes known to young Lincoln, he writes in his journal, "henceforth my life shall be one of rigorous study and devotion. I shall become a master of mind and body. And this mastery shall have but one purpose..." Gifted with his legendary height, strength, and skill with an ax, Abe sets out on a path of vengeance that will lead him all the way to the White House.

While Abraham Lincoln is widely lauded for saving a Union and freeing millions of slaves, his valiant fight against the forces of the undead has remained in the shadows for hundreds of years. I had no interest in this movie until she signed on. Now I have to see it. I love MEW, she's awesome.

Oscar Winning Composer Trent Reznor to Score and Act in 'Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter'

When it was announced that Nine Inch Nails front man Trent Reznor would be scoring David Fincher’s The Social Network, it was considered a highly unlikely choice. Over a year later, Oscar in hand, Reznor’s next film seems like a much more logical fit. While he and partner Atticus Ross are currently scoring Fincher’s follow-up, The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, Badass Digest reports that Reznor will follow that up by not only scoring, but acting in, Timur Bekmambetov‘s adaptation of the Seth Grahame-Smith novel Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. Read who he’ll be playing and more after the jump.

Badass Digest broke the news of Reznor’s involvement in the film, which will surely benefit from the moody, atmospheric accompaniment that the composer helped to craft for The Social Network, with Oscar-winning results.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter surmises that Lincoln’s mother was killed by vampires and that the eventual 16th President of the United States dedicated his life to destroying blood-suckers with an axe. He continued to do so all the way through his Presidency. Reznor’s role will reportedly be a very important cameo – as the vampire that kills Lincoln’s mom and sets the whole bloody affair in motion.

We’ve previous reported a ton of casting on the film, which includes Benjamin Walker as Honest Abe, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as his wife Mary Todd, Anthony Mackie as Secretary of State William Seward, Dominic Cooper as vampire-killing mentor Henry Sturges and Jimmi Simpson as Josh Speed, Lincoln’s friend and personal assistant.

Produced by Tim Burton, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter begins shooting, in 3D, later this month aimed at a prime June 22, 2012 release date, which sandwiches it between Pixar’s Brave and Star Trek 2.
