6-0 lead for the Cardinals, looks like they will pull ahead in the NL East race with the Reds shortly.

Braves need to do something with Glaus. He was hitting big early in the season and just plain stinks the past couple months. Since July 1st he's 20 for 100 (.200 Avg) with 1 HR and 9 RBI's. Aweful.

Their lineup stinks. Of today's 9 hitters playing for the Rays only 3 guys are hitting >.250 for the season. Their pitching is fantastic but they aren't going to beat a team like NY or Texas in the playoffs with those bats.

They won't even beat us with those bats, especially if Hudson, Mauer and Morneau get back to 100% to complement our surging pitching staff.

Hah... Billy Wagner blew the Braves 9th inning lead then the Braves scored 6 runs in the 10th to break open an 8-2 game. McCann hit a pinch hit grand slam. About over now.

Well that's just not right.

This is why I don't consider W-L records for pitchers in MLB as a key stat. Billy Wagner gave up the tying run in the 9th for a blown save but also got the win since the Braves won in the 10th.

Phillies faired somewhat better tonite against the Dodgers, Roy Oswalt pitched a shutout for a Philly win 2 to 0.
Chase Utley gets the go ahead to start swinging the bat and Shane Victorino should be back any day now Ryan Howard is another week away.

The Rangers are looking very good against the Yankees for the 2nd night in a row. I'm really starting to think Texas is the biggest threat to the Yankees in the AL. That Rangers offense if amazing, and their pitching is vastly improved this year. Cliff Lee didn't pitch great tonight but he was effective enough to put Texas in position to win. Josh Hamilton has to be the frontrunner for MVP.

I wouldn't go that far pal. They blow a 5 run lead against us (and we're not even a full strength). For a great comeback win for the bombers. The could be the kick start they need to cruise to the AL east crown and home field for the ALDS and ALCS.

I knew starting that farm kid would end badly, we got waxed 6-1 so I didn't watch the recording I made of the game. Liriano starts for us tomorrow, hoping we win so I can watch it.

Chipper Jones has a torn ACL and will likely miss the rest of the season. Jones is going to get a second opinion and must decide whether to have season-ending surgery. I'll be curious if this is the end of his career as well. A torn ACL is a tough injury to come back from and he was already thinking about retirement so he could decide to call it a career.
