Thanks a lot Dodgers. I thought you were going to give the Braves a little breathing room by taking out the Phils tonight. Instead you choke away a 9-2 lead in the 8th inning.

Minnesota finishes their road trip 6-4 on a 6-1 win behind Liriano's pitching and Kubel's bat.

I thought that was an awesome ending, chooch with the walk off HR, I never understand why the Phillies play down to the level of some teams when they are a fierce offensive team ( When they decide to apply ) I hope they realize that they were almost stomped on again and snap the freak out of this up and down play, the Braves just lost Chipper, which sucks for him and the team but it can only help the Phillies get past them with all of our stars due back like any day now, we shall see, Lets Go Phils.

* I would like to say I will miss Chipper if he is finished but that guy was a true Phillie killer, I hope he recovers well enough to make a decision not based on injury.

Not as good of a Phillie killer as Met killer. HE owned the Mets his entire career. Heck, Chipper named his daughter Shea after the Mets old Shea Stadium.

Expecting Carl Pavano to earn his 15th win tonight against the Athletics, hopefully he gives us a complete game and allows us to rest the bullpen.

Well I can understand why. He was paid $38 mill over 4 years by the Yankees and made a grand total of 26 starts in that span. That's well over $1 mill per start. And not only that but he was lights out in the 2003 World Series against NY. It's like he is out to destroy the Yankees whether it be with them or against them.

He was on that 2003 Arizona Diamondbacks team? Surprised that I forgot.

Nah, Marlins beat the Yankees in 2003. Arizona was 2001. He held the Yankees to 1 run in his only WS start for Florida.

Oh right that was the year that 20 year old ace Josh Beckett absolutely wrecked the Yankers' outstanding hitter line-up.

karma for trying to overspend on every high prized free agent out there... similar to the return there getting on Burnetts shitty deal...

I wonder how much they will offer to Cliff Lee next year...

That Series was probably the one that caught me by surprise more than any other WS in my lifetime. I thought the Yankees would sweep them easy and at best the Marlins would win one game. Never would have imagined the Marlins would win in 6, including shutting out NY in Game 6 at Yankee Stadium.

I wonder how deep the pockets are with this new Rangers ownership group. I mean they did outbid Mark Cuban. I know they they won't outspend the Yankees but I suppose they could make Lee a legit extension offer.

Honestly the Yankers are really good but also really old, not to mention their legendary owner just died. So I'd say the future of that franchise is kind of in doubt right now, so Lee may take a deal for a little less money to stay on a team that will probably be a contender for the next 3-5 years.

I've seen no evidence at all that his sons are going to do anything but jackup payroll in the future. Unless they start feuding with each other I just don't see much of any effect on the team due to the change in ownership.
