I have 2 yamaha 12 inch front firing subs I know there far from the higerend subs so I've been thinking of ways to help improve there sound quality and I'm thinking about building a riser and then stacking the subs on top of each other.. what are the opions on stacking subs ? Good? Bad? .....

Not great, lol. The likelihood that it'll produce better results is pretty low. If you are looking to improve the subs, positioning and setting their gain with an SPL will do wonders.

The curve is pretty clean. A little high near the rolloff point, but on the whole I'd say it's good. However, does that include the fronts? Or is that exclusively the subs? Also what do you have your crossover set to?

One thing to note, if you want to present good info about the sub, a waterfall is much better. A simply FR will only give you the initial db level, but really what you're trying to correct when you talk about LFR is decay. You can tell if there's problems with the reproduction by looking at the decay rates and the peaks.

That does not include the fronts.
I'm going to try and get the waterfall pic over the weekend. I saved my last measurements. Subs are crossed over at 80hz. The roll off does seem a little strange.

Without EQ I had problems with dips and peaks at 30 - 40 and 50. Moving the subs around fixed some but needed the EQ in the end. The 20hz I couldn't bring down more than that.

Whether or not it looks good graphed it sounds freaking awesome. Much better than without EQing. I no longer ride the controls with big bass scenes and there is no boominess at all. Music especially heavy bass lines sound "flat" across all the notes. That to me was impressive compared to what it was before.

But I'm all for improvement :-)

Have not decided yet , Have to build the other stand for the surround on the other side first , Then I will finish them for permanent placement .

Just about done with my sub riser for my my soon to be delivered A5-350, Overall dimensions are .5" more that the actual sub all around. 3/4" MDF board with 1" thick polyfill foam board. I'm not a fan of the carpet on the top so I used some sound deadening rubberized spraypaint in black. The legs are nice sturdy fence post toppers from home depot. It sits just under 6" tall and should do nicely. Still a little painting to do but I am very happy with results so far
