The Red Sox have claimed Johnny Damon off waivers. The Red Sox and Tigers now have 48 hours to work out a trade, although Damon has a no-trade clause and could block a return to Boston. It's not known if the Red Sox actually want Damon or were trying to block another team from getting him. It may be a moot point because Damon said he is not inclined to go back to Boston.

If I had to guess who in a full team no-hitter from the Rangers would bunk it, my last guess would be Neftali Feliz. But it was him. Still, to one-hit the Twins, the best hitting team in the majors, pretty damn impressive.

Bautista tacks on another 2 homers as the Jays edged the Yanks 3-2.

That makes it 40hr on the year to go with 95 RBI. Wow!!

Bud Selig statue to be unveiled Tuesday

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Baseball Commissioner Bud Selig's statue will soon join the likenesses of Hank Aaron and Robin Yount in front of Miller Park.

The Milwaukee Brewers are unveiling the bronze statue in a ceremony Tuesday afternoon at the stadium's Home Plate Plaza.

Selig returned Major League Baseball to his hometown of Milwaukee in 1970 when he founded the Milwaukee Brewers. He was owner and president of the Brewers before becoming commissioner in 1998.

The statue will measure over seven feet tall not including the base.

It is being designed and produced by Brian Maughan. He and Douglas Kwart also created the Yount and Aaron statues.

Is this a late April Fools Day joke? Awesome. A statue for the worst Commissioner in MLB history. And he was a crappy owner of the Brewers as well.

What's next? The city of New Orleans erecting a statue of for FEMA Secretary Michael Brown in honor of his valient work during Katrina?

In MLB 10 The Show he has had many lead-off home runs for me, dating back to March/April when I played the game more often.

Definitely a weird game. During the post game show they were saying how Lackey is the Sox #1 quality starter, reaching the 8th inning more than the others. That surprised me, as I had the impression that he was closer to the bottom in that category.

What I find funny is that they make a profit but, they just pocket it and not putting it back into the team (that's why they've had a losing record for so many years). They are not the only team who does this either. No one can feel sorry for small market teams anymore.
