They'll probably cut Sabithia and then offer Lee the money Sabithia would've gotten and then a good deal more.

why would they cut Sabathia, hes their Ace? that would make no sense, also baseball contracts are guarenteed, they would still have to pay him even if they cut him....

Oh sorry for some reason crossed AJ Burnett and CC Sabithia. Still can't believe how big Sabithia is, biggest pitcher I've ever seen.

ya that makes sense.... but i think the Yankes still owe Burnett $17mil next year... so cutting him wouldnt make any sense either as they would still have to pay him....

I almost as intrigued by the amount he's going to get as what Pujols is going to get.

Sidenote: why in the world did MLB schedule a west coast playoff game at 1PM? Wouldn't it have been better to just alternate days?

They should trade him to the Giants, they could sure use that gaping hole in their rotation, especially with those bats they have.

my thoughts exactly.. For some reason i thought the game was at 4 or 5 tonight... makes no sense what so ever for a 1pm start... Looks like i'll be getting no work done today... Lucky my Manager is off today

CT is plagued by being right smack in between two huge sports markets (NY, Boston), so we stand little or no chance of landing another major sports team. hell yea man... NYC is a lot closer to me than Boston but CT is definately divided... i have friends who are die hard Sox fans... and friends who are die hard Yanks fans...

the only thing CT has is UCONN Basketball and ill rep them even thoguh theyve sucked as of late (the men of course)

I don't know what frustrates me more... that the Yankees can't do anything against Lee, or that Pettitte's outing is being completely wasted.

I still think it would've been better to have Burnett pitch tonight. That way if the Yankees only got 2 hits, who cares, because Burnett would've probably given up 20 runs anyway. One might argue you should never anticipate a loss, but if true, by extension, you should never anticipate a Burnett loss. So now, if all ends up as expected, you still lose the game you figured you'd lose anyway, and all your good pitchers get their day of rest.

Pettitte's pitching tonight would've won Game 1 (though they did anyway), 2, and probably 4, 5, or 6. But because it came in Game 3, it's been wasted.

Pettitte pitched fantastic and all you can ask for...and i think i am one of the few who is not going to shit on Burnett until he actually pitches like crap... gotta have some faith... he is a good pitcher... just been off this season

Yup sometimes people don't realize, it's not that your own player is playing BADLY, it's that the other team's guy is just better.

In a weird way, it's almost good that the bullpen really blew the game in the 9th inning.

Had the game finished 2-0, I think a lot of people (myself included) would feel bad for Pettitte, and wish he could've had that 1 pitch to Hamilton back.
