Welcome back your World Champion Giants!

San Francisco will host a ticker-tape parade and civic celebration in honor of the 2010 World Champion San Francisco Giants on Wednesday, November 3, 2010.

The parade will begin on Montgomery Street at Washington Street at 11 a.m. and go southbound on Montgomery Street to Market Street, before continuing westbound on Market Street to Civic Center Plaza. Following the parade, on the steps of City Hall, Mayor Newsom will present the team with the key to the City and honor the World Series Champions in a civic celebration. The parade route will replicate the route taken by the team when they first came to San Francisco from New York in 1958.

The sidewalks lining Wednesday's ticker-tape parade are open to all members of the public. Those viewing the parade and who wish to attend the celebration in Civic Center Plaza are advised to arrive early and take public transportation.

Just work it out with your boss, trade a couple normal days off for one shift off, who knows when the G-Men will do it again?

I lived in San Francisco for 8 years but will not miss the city more than on 11/03/2010.

I was in SF the weekend that Posey was called up. Watched his third game with buddy who lives down there and told him that Posey is the real deal.

Fast forward through August after watching Timmy suck the big one and watch the team start playing well, I figure that the Giants would make the playoffs but not on the last day....leaving Zito off the roster was a surprise...started the playoffs figuring that Philly would walk over everyone...then came Bruce and his incredible managing...putting Panda on the bench after his blunder against the Phillies and putting Uribe in was a stroke of genius....began Facetiming with my buddy in SF and me in Vancouver every game, nice way to watch the games....interesting fact is that his Comcast broadcast was about ten seconds slower than my broadcast up here in Vancouver....

Being a Giants fan since the Will Clark days, I was so happy to see the Giants win without Barry.....now on to the NFL....go Patriots and my Vikings can go to hell with Chilly and Favre...start Jackson next week...

So now that the 2010 season is over, one question remains... are we going to keep this thread for another season?

This thread dates back to the beginning of the '09 season, and we kept the same one for the '10 season. I say let's keep it going!

(Though it really makes no difference).

Sad for baseball, but he lived a great and successful life.

I wish it were that easy... but in our dept theres only 2 of us, and the other person who could cover my shift has school, so i cant ask him to miss a college day just so i can go to the parade... But my mgr is awsome! he went to GM1 and bought a Giants World series hat, and he gave it to me!!!

We should just keep it...if anything just change the '10 to '11 and be done with it.

haha now that would be interesting. So you can't just call off work? It's a lifetime opportunity to enjoy in the celebrations with the rest of the fans and San Fran. I'm still banging my head against the wall for not going to see the Yankees parade.

It was a once-in-a-lifetime thing for me... not that I expect the Yankees to not win another WS during my lifetime, but because it was so over the top... and crazy... and freezing cold. I literally stood in the same spot for seven hours straight, unable to budge. The people and some of the stuff they were chanting were really funny though, so that was cool.

I'm glad I did it but I probably won't be going back again, unless my daughter wanted me to go with her (20 months old right now

).
