From what I've read in the UK Avatar thread, you're not missing anything. A lot of people have received damaged boxes, and the content isn't even worth the price. The James Cameron signature on the film cell is printed and the Making of -book that comes with the set is just a glorified sampler of the actual Making of -book on sale in stores.

Roger. Thank you.

I'm about to demo my copy now. Saw Avatar in IMAX 3D and skipped on the gimped/fake version that came out earlier this year.

I really love how the new opening plays.

The segue from "you always have to wake up" works so much better in this new cut imo.

Plus there's a gorgeous new shot from inside the cockpit of the spaceship that is upside down in space. Fantastic!

Really hoping for an exchange program on the packaging but for now will keep them in a DVD case, really afraid someone as impatient as me will ruin the discs.

Yea, I saw a couple videos of the "unboxing" of the set on YouTube & printed signature or not, I like the set, the film cell, & the book. The price though, was nuts. $90+

Plus, weren't most of the Damaged copies from One Supplier (whose name I forget off hand - oh wait: "Play.com", correct? Just shipped in plastic bags with Minimal protection inside a box...? )

Lol - I hope I don't get that pissed to Fling it across my room! And I'm sure I'll "make do" with the packaging.

Lol - I saw this OPENING NIGHT, IMAX 3D, last December, then in regular 2d a few weeks later, then in "Real-D 3D"
[Show spoiler](whatever the hell That is/was supposed to be )
, then saw the "extended" version that came out a couple months ago with the roughly 8 minutes added footage. Then, bought the Bluray/DVD when it came out, watched it 2x, then sold the DVD ($10!) & sent the bluray to my friend who had sent the $$$$ for it).

The Extended version is supposed to have those same 8 minutes, plus an Additional 8 minutes (or 16 total from the original release).

Im going through some of the deleted scenes and there are already a few that I wish made the cut.

The scene between the Colonel and Giovanni Ribisi is amazing. I can't believe it didn't make the cut.

I guess if you're a huge fan it might be cool to have, but to me it just would be a waste of money.

The Scandinavian Ultimate Collector's Set with the Jake figurine/statue has been shipped to me today, but I'm still not sure if I'm going to keep it, since it's double the price of the regular edition. I'll have to get a closer look at the statue once I receive it on Wednesday/Thursday before I decide what to do.

The Alien Anthology is plagued by the same issue. I avoid touching the spine so my inner OCD demon doesn't go nuts and spit fire everywhere.

Zoe Saldana dancing in the "Hunt Festival" deleted scene =

Can't imagine how amazing it would have looked if it was finished for the movie!

Damn, that sounds Very Nice! Do you have a link with pictures of the Jake Figurine/Statue? Also, do you have any idea if that's Region Free?

No problem my friend. (Plus, it's in the review if you want to peruse that) From the Review: ---> "To start, you get three versions of the film—the Original Theatrical Release, the eight-minute-longer Special Edition Re-Release, and the Collector's Extended Cut, which has all the footage from the Special Edition plus another eight minutes of reintegrated, fully finished material."
