Always nice to read though but in my opinion no different than any other analyst supporting either side. |

Clearly the people that read this blog aren't the brightest, either.... "David, I don't have a dog in this fight, but I've been to CES the past two years and I've seen the biggest, bestest, etc displays the CE guys have to offer. Maybe my eyes aren't sharp enough, but I can't see an enormous difference between the next-gen DVDs and regular DVDs when they're on a really nice screen." And none other than Deadmeat made a post on the same blog with his "All indications point to Warner dropping Blu-Ray for HD-DVD(their co-creation)." ![]() Last edited by cking2729; 12-10-2007 at 07:48 PM. |

I looked on the 'About' part of their website and the guy (Peter Kafka) who wrote the little blurb about Blu-ray winning is a Senior Editor at Forbes.

It's up to consumers to keep BD looking like a sales-advantage for WB in addition to whatever back-door deals are being negotiated. |

Is Rich Greenfield an activist analyst for the research arm of Pali Capital? If so, he has been covering TWX for a long time. Supposedly, Rich was one of the hounds asking for Dick Parson's exit from TWX.
So, if googled articles are anything to go by, Rich knows his TWX. Has Jeff Bewkes said anything about the HDM. This is likely not high on his list, but has he publicly said anything on blu-ray? ![]() Still, you'd think WB wants to control the timing of this, and not have these leaks make life difficult for everyone. Don't forget there's also the hd dvd hail mary play, where green suitcases can still show up. |

With all the hype lately about Blu-ray, it looks like this week Blu-ray is on the lips of everyone. Analysts claiming Blu-ray wins in 2008, statistics showing the lead Blu-ray has, the move WB could make, etc...
It looks like the people are really beginning to like Blu-ray, and I am sure that WB sees this too. As for those brining up Disney, WHAT MAKES YOU THINK THEY WOULD GO NEUTRAL!?!?! Disney has NEVER even remotely said anything like they were thinking of going neutral, they never did anything to make one think they were interested in it.. it is all pure HD DVD FUD. Disney loves Blu-ray, it has made them a lot of money especially with the PotC movies and Pixar as well. Also their Disney Blu-ray Magical Tour, their ads pointing out how well Blu-ray is doing, their announcements saying how much they love Blu-ray... Disney is as Blu as you can get. |

You would think that the BDA would have signed some sort of deal with Warner before allowing the Lionsgate VC to make his comments. Since it wouldn't matter what HD-dvd did.
Funny, you check some other forums and you would either think nothing is up or HD-dvd is going to win. ![]() |

But again I think what speaks loudest right now is the fact that WB has not come out to deny it as they have in the past when rumors hit about them. |

Not to worry though, sales are so low compared to DVD that It's not like that they would recoup the cost of setting up an HD DVD line. Although, a combo disney disk would be powerful since most of the kiddies wouldn't have a HD player in their rooms yet. Also, just because someone mentions this as a "remote" possibility, please don't invoke the FUD title on them. All of this thread is speculation at the moment based on rumor. I think it's good to look at all possibilities regardless of how remote they are. I wasn't thowing out FUD, I was just asking the question, which I think is a valid concern.
