I didn't really write down anything. I knew what I wanted, I just needed to come up with the measurements. I started to cut wood and just did it one part at a time.

Hey folks here are some pics from my setup here in Vegas.

Convincing an installer to instal a 50" plasma on a fall 12 feet above my staircase was the biggest challenge.

I have no idea how to paste pics into this post, so the pics are attached.

Reciever: Denon 2807
Monster Power: HTS 5100
PS3
Panasonic DVD-RP56
Scientific Atlanta HD-DVR
Samsung HP-T5054 Plasma (50-inch)

No that's what I call MAXimizing space. Not too many people around have a staircase running up right through their theater . What rooms are you linking to? Is it the top floor connecting to bedrooms?

Actually the viewing distance is perfect. Isn't 8 - 10ft ideal for a 50 inch? I can't watch TV comfortably any closer than that.

The stairs come upstairs. My seating and electronics rack is in my loft. And of course the TV is against the wall of the staircase.

Have you tried putting the long sofa with the red cushions right in front of the tv so that it's parallel with the movie-sofa in the back row?

How about carpets for the room? I hear carpets might be able to improve the sound quality in a room. And perhaps, a carpet color that matches the wall color, since analagous colors tend to make people feel more relaxed and cozy, I suppose, which would be proper when you're trying to unwind and lose yourself in a movie.

That's actually as far as I can scoot the couch because if you recline in both the couch and the recliner the legs bump into each other. We actually never use the couch though. My wife and I pretty much just use the double recliners. I would have gotten a smaller sofa if they had one but we rarely use it. It is mainly for company, if we were watching a football game or something.

Hello everyone. I just wanted to share some photos of our new Home Theater. Earlier this year before we started on this project, I submitted a Thread to share my ideas of what we wanted to build. I asked for feedback and received some really great ideas from some of you. Thanks to you that offered ideas, they really got us to thinking about what we wanted.

Anyway, here is the link to view our (not yet final) results. Please feel free to check for updates as we will be submitting images as this project progresses.

Thanks again,

Nice Home Theater Robocop, going for that Soprano look ay? Personally I'm a couch guy so I'd want 2-3 of the largest most comfortable couches (Not necessarily all have to be the same material, leather and cashmere type would be awesome) 1 on the left, 1 in the back middle and 1 on the right. For now I'm happpy with my TV and a sinking couch with a decent surround sound system, (not visible here, picture was taken in Christmas '06). My basement looks very different now, I had practically just moved in this house .

All I want now is the PS3 with Blu Ray and I'm chilling hard.

I am still working to setup my system since I moved so it is a work in process. The TV and center speaker will go on the wall and I probably will replace the processor sometime next year. But here it is so far. I hope the pictures go along with this message

After careful consideration and doing my homework, this set-up should be the new HT standard. Not everyone will be able to afford something like this, but if you save your $$ and forget about going with seperates, you will eventually get there.
