And I wasn't nearly as negative as most of your posts. Just understand the legitimate/reasonable bias of the site and the concerns others here have about FUD and you'll do fine. Things have gotten much better for me in the last few weeks.

Welcome aboard.
Thank you, Paden, for providing the viewpoint of someone who has been there before. I think you put it perfectly, and that in time, with more postings, he'll be fine. It's certainly not personal, but for a while there it was an almost hourly occurance that a post would "catch fire"... [edit] I'm referring to a couple of months ago, not Dustin's postings.

Exactly, I have been here for a few weeks now and at first felt unwelcome although I have a ton of blu-ray stuff. Some ppl are a little hard nosed-bullyish with their love for Blu. There's no doubt who will win but if ppl want to spend their own money on other toys than it's no one else's business.

If anyone questions my love for Blu then can come over to my place anytime they want, see my gear/collection and then eat their words.

That is all

You're dead-on Stockstar. That's why I was sure to make a distinction between his questions and some of his other comments. In looking back at his other posts, I'm starting to believe that he's just generally a pessimistic person until shown otherwise. He's about equal in both positive and negative postings/comments.

You bring up up a very good point. The problem is that all of us out here are pretty much anonymous beyond what our posts say. I think there's quite a few new members who have joined, said the wrong thing, then found themselves getting blasted clean off the forum for it. That's the difficulty with the internet: we're all strangers, with nothing but our words defining who we are. And we're all guilty of saying something that's been taken out of context before. It's hard not to, when you have many different cultures and generations communicating. I guess all I'm really trying to say is to be careful with what you write, and take a moment to read it before you post it. Look at it subjectively and ask yourself 'can this be taken in a way other than what I'm intending?' Sad to say, but more posts means more credibility on this, or any other forum.

Fair enough. And probably smart. But you can see from my experience (see link below) that an innocent question can stir things up pretty quickly.

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=23181

There were a number of good posts and then one chump in post #10 called me a troll and it turned from there. We don't need witch-hunts here. If a person is a troll they'll either make that clear with their first post or sometime shortly thereafter. All I do is flag the post and move on. It's the moderators job, not mine, to keep this board clear of jerks.

It's called cyber-bullying if you ask me lol

Don't let it bother you dude. If you own some Blu, you deserve to be here! But do not deserve some of those responses in that thread.

All this behavior does is turns potentials off blu-ray.

@SpikesBluBlooded,

I wasn't saying that you called me a troll, personally. Just people on this site in general. Sorry if it sounded like I was saying it was you.

@Stockstar,

I too enjoyed talking with you last night. You seem to be educated in the blu department. Thanks again for all your help.

@Paden,

Your comment made me laugh. I needed that. And thanks.

@Everyone else,

I will do my best to not be a pesmist. Sorry. It's a bad habbit of mine.

How about instead of anyone calling someone a troll, the person reports the post to a mod and they decide what the deal is.

Isn't that how this should work?

That's what I would like to see. It would make things alot more friendly.

Wow, I feel sorry for you for that post, lol. More than a few came after you once the first "troll" wording came out.

lol

No real doubt about it. If WB does not go Blu-exclusive, the entire HDM industry (disc-wise) will fail sooner or later. I think the end is closer than i thought! Despite the support HD DVD does have, I feel Universal is not going to be able to maintain an HD DVD exclusive stance for long. The only other thing left is Paramount. It would be easy to end the war is WB brings Uni over with it.
But if it goes HD, than the support will be too confusing, to even, and consumers will not buy either! If it were to stay neutral, it would take too long for BD to win with its current lead, and consumers would stop buying eventually.
There is only one way out of this, Blu-ray!

Please Warner Brothers, Universal, and Paramount. Listen to reason! Join Blu-ray and we can end the pointless war, boost sales, and make everyone happy in the end!

Dude!! You probably put the poster up to it to get mysticsuicide to come to your defense. Some folks will do anything to get one of the Blu beauties riding to the rescue.

Thanks for the benefit of the doubt in return. And like I said a few posts ago, I don't think that you're trolling, just pessimistic (is that better?) )

You know what? I suggested that very same thing about a month ago, along with no longer using disparaging comments to describe HD DVD or its fans. Shame on me for not following my own suggestion.

I know which forum you're talking about and I don't think you're a troll at all! I love your posts. HD-DVD fanboys just can't handle your opinion so they resort to name calling.
