Remember not everybody buys their movies from Amazon. I just placed an order for the 5 HP movies directly from WHV. Don't worry about this little victory if they have one. HD-DUD will not win the week guaranteed.

I think more of us have been buying from B&W stores more this month because of the delayed shipping amazon has been doing.
Some reason amazon says that I will get Blade Runner before the 24th & The Simpsons After the 24th, they are both released the same day, even when I click 2 day shipping

I really hope the Nielsen figures will show because last week's were a bit feeble. This Friday's figures will show what Pirates did. Next week are perhaps the most important figures as they will show how Harry Potter did. crossing my fingers for those

Is Dave Vaughn's post.

OK....I'll do this like last week, so those who saw will know what I mean

I predict that BD will win week handily 76%-24%. POTC At Worlds End will be the #1 title with Superbad a distant second. The #3 title for the week will be Planet Earth HD DVD selling even more copies than it did last week. Rounding out the top five will be SP3 and Transformers.

Again, this is a prediction on my part

He also went on to mention that no title sold over 100k.

Is 76/24 the highest Blu-Ray has ever gotten?

Why is Planet Earth HD-DVD having such a sales increase?

Maybe Microshaft is buying up all the red versions and giving them as Christmas gifts to everyone on their list?

Not too shabby. It's just frustrating to see everything shaping up in a way that this whole thing would have been sooo over by now without the Paramount defection.

The Planet Earth HD DVD continues to amaze. On the one hand it still signifies new customers, but on the other hand it just shows how horrible regular movies are selling for HD DVD.

Oprah endorsed Planet Earth on her show. There was an increase in HD-DVD players sold recently. Planet Earth is still one of the first discs that someone new to HD will purchase. I think a lot of the discs are new purchases.

Also, some have noted that a lot of people may be confused about what HD-DVD is, and the requirement to have a HD-DVD player to purchase it. You can easily see _housewife01 go out and purchase it because it says HD and it says DVD, which must mean it's a DVD in high def. I'm sure that's a lot of it. Who knows? Who cares.

I have figures back thru April and, for that period of time, the highest was W/E 7/22 74:26. Can't recall if we had a higher week in Q1. Where's Grubert?...

How were the free copies of "Open Season" given away with the PS3 priced?

76:24 is a good showing, but hunker down for next week. Bourne should do well, as should HP.

Bourne will be the last possible red week in 2007. I am surprised that no week has gone red, as a betting man would have thought either Shrek3 or TF (especially TF) should have gone red.
