The screen is cracked. I bought the tv off craigslist. Not sure if it is still under warranty.

Dang it. Last question, I promise, Is that something that has to be done by pioneer, or are there other third parties that do the repair for less? I don't have 2200 for a Pioneer repair... :-/

![]() Best Buy is now completely out of stock on all Pioneer plasma screens as far as I am aware I think I am done now posting Pioneer plasma screen updates. I stopped into my local Best Buy today. My local Best Buy is completely out of stock on Pioneer plasma screens including all floor models. It was my understanding from the Best Buy sales person that all Best Buy stores nationwide are now out of stock on Pioneer plasma screens. The PRO-101FD’s are selling for around $3,100-$4,500 on EBAY. A new PRO-141FD that has a list price of $7,000 is selling for $9,999.99 on Amazon for a new unit or $7,999.99 for an open box model. http://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B001HDV3U0/ref=dp_olp_used?ie=UTF8&qid=1291508092&sr=8-1&condition=used Last edited by HDTV1080P; 12-04-2010 at 11:25 PM. |

Pioneer did such a amazing job with their tv's from top to bottom and I hope once the recession is over and the economy becomes strong Pioneer will enter back into the tv market and so will any other companies that have been effected by the economy so there can be competition.
I hope my Pioneer Elite Kuro PRO-151FD never has any malfunction! I'm very thankful I along with my family got it as a gift to share. I really am spoiled. |

However there is an issue that sometimes makes me wish I'd bought something else, which is the buzzing. I know there's a ton of writing about this matter but I'd like to hear it from you guys, how loud is it in your opinion or have you ever measured it? Has anyone heard that there might be something wrong with the tv that could make the buzzing louder? I measured 65dB right next to the tv and yes, I have the power safe mode 2 on. Also the buzzing is not static but rather changes without any logical explanation (for example light/dark screen). Does this sound familiar? ![]() What do you think, am I hypochondriac as the pioneer rep informed me on the phone or could there be something wrong with my kuro? ![]() |

A good surge eliminator/power conditioner might help with the buzz and lower the sound floor. It also depends on how much power you're running on that circuit, if you're overloading that circuit or nearing it's stress limit it can effect your HT...
A knowledgeable person on another forum/website posted this to me... Quote:

I have a real low buzz. I can only hear it if im real close to the TV. I can't hear anything from 8 feet away at my LP so i think it's a normal plasma buzz. With PS mode 2 it completely goes away. @oppopioneer- Nice info. Those SurgeX units look pretty nice. I like panamax though. Hmmm. Quote:

No, what he meant was high current equipment like amps and recievers are plugged into one circuit and one surge eliminator. A amp should have it's own dedicated circuit and own surge eliminator. If you plug a amp, reciever, flat screen tv, bd player into one surge eliminator it will stress it to the max and overload the circuit in the wall. |

Question about firmware updates for the Pio Kuro's...
Have any of you updated your Kuro with a firmware update from Pioneer through the USB? Pioneer offered it on their website back in April of '09. I bought my Pio Elite Kuro 151FD in January 2010, but was ordered in December '09. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PU...+and+PRO-151FD |
