Ouch, Hook is so far below the radar that I completely forgot to mention it...

But seriously, with everyone clamoring for the big guns, and with the impending arrival of the Indiana Jones films in Q4 2008, some of the smaller ones should see the light of day. I hope CE3K was successful enough for Sony to encourage the other rights holders to join up with the Spielberg camp.

Still, I'm spoiled enough by CE3K to demand special packaging and SE treatment of all his films from now on.

Somebody clear this up for me...Minority Report says Dreamworks on the spine, but Fox on the back. Aside from LOTR and SW on BD, this is my most aniticipated release. I just imagine it in 1080p looking so sweet.

They need to do Private Ryan in 7.1. That intro scene on the beachhead would be even more incredible.

Speaking of Poltergiest, what ever happened to it? Was is shelved indefinetly? I was looking forward to getting it. When I was a kid and watching it, that little old woman creeped me out.

Well Oprah has already done blu-ray a disservice by bragging about her "awesome copy" of Planet Earth she has on HDDUD on her show....I would bet that is why it is still out selling blu in that title.

I want Poltergiest soooo bad.....

I deliberately haven't seen it for years, wanted it on DVD forever, but refused to buy the dreadful release that Warner gave it (think it was Warner?)

I want a remastered clean copy with awesome PQ & AQ

and i want it... NOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWW

Does everyone know something that I don't? When did JP4 get the green light? Who's in it? Who's directing? When is it being released?

I must have missed this memo! HOLY CRAP! JP4 on the way. They had better get their asses in high gear to make this film happen.

See. Exactly. You may have hit on the reason that PE-HD DVD outsells the BD version.

This wasn't about what would be the most popular titles, but what would help adoption the most. Imagine Oprah explaining that Blu-ray has 5 of 7 major studios and it's the only format to see her in 1080p. Plus, it would be another Spielberg release on Blu.

For those that don't think it would look good, I doubt that's the case. Movies such as Close Encounters looked great. It's not the same as movies shot with HD digital cameras, but the picture quality can still be outstanding if proper care is taken.
