That's the most unrealistic thing in the pilot for you? What about the Cape and how quickly he learned "Ninja Vanish!" or super cape that grabs people, or reptile man? Those are fine for you?
It wasn't in the pilot, it was in the second episode, but yes. I can go with the flow pretty well and take a TV world for what it is...but a big fancy restaurant during dinner service and the kitchen is EMPTY??? COME ON!

it's like the writers didn't even know what they wanted the show to be. they tried to cram like 5-6 "could have been" good episodes into 1 really crappy pilot. and what's with introducing all 3 villains right away?

the Chess taking off his mask to frame the guy and later on, the Chess has his mask on.. couldn't he just used his spare instead of taking off the one he's wearing? personally, it would have been a lot better than have "hey, Fleming is the Chess and he is the bad guy. now, we'll expose him as the Chess"

i don't mind plot holes but it would have been better to have 2 separate entities and have the reveal later on. character development, looks like they forgot about that

Well the pilot was a two hour block so I just consider both hours the pilot, so don't get all fancy and technical with me, a show like this cannot follow those rules, and I won't either!

Sure they introduced three villains but we learned the one is part of a larger group of assassins. Besides, it's not like they were killed off and Chess owns the police now so both Scales and Cain are both still free to cause problems.

Oh, but I have to say the most unrealistic thing in the first two episodes has to be an empty restaurant kitchen during dinner service.
I agree with everything you said. The only thing I wouldn't agree on is about the kitchen, but that's because I sadly didn't even notice.

episode 1 was awfull, they put too much in 45 minutes. They should have stretched that story over the 2 episodes. First give us a bit of backstory before he gets framed, because everything happend too quickly.

Episode 2 was already a bit better, better pacing. And they better make Summer Glau's character a superhero later on in the season, the best parts were when she was on screen.

I'll keep following it, unless they come up with more episodes like the pilot. The only thing about the cape as a character that bothers me is him disappearing in a cloud of smoke.

And not that when Orwell was sitting at the table Cape was in the guys apartment, but by time she hit the kitchen he was at the restaurant

This is not the kind of show u can tear apart. It wil drive u crazy. It's like writing an analysis of a comic book. You kinda have to take it as it comes and like it or hate it.

They should have made her a more Kato like character. She's got all the money in the world and it's plain she has some self defense training but they should have upped it a couple notches.

I was surprised. I was pretty convinced I was gonna hate it. While I didnt love it, it was nice escapist fun. I really like the cast especially Keith David and James Frain. The plot is thin and u really need to suspend ur disbelief but as long as they dont let it get too heavy or too serious, I'll watch. And yes, Summer Glau was absolutely smokin in the restaurant scene. Short, short skirts and a nice ride, too.

For me it was him falling out the window at least 10 stories up and surviving by supposedly using his cape to slow his fall. Then getting up and getting into Orwell's car within 30 secs but Cain somehow being able to get down to them in that same time period.

I still liked the show though hopefully it will improve from the pilot.

Not sure what to think of it yet. The premise is interesting and it could be good but it's so up and down with a ton of wtf moments that I think could have been easily avoided. Get Summer Glau in some spandex and I'll forgive some of it but they need to tighten this up a bit.

I'm not sure about this yet. It entertained me enough to keep watching, but we'll see how long that lasts. I agree that you have to suspend disbelief, but I enjoyed 8 seasons of 24 by doing that. I'll be tuning in at least next week.

Not sure what to think of it myself, it was enjoyable to an extent but there was lots of faults with it...you would think that he would wear a gloves or a mask on from the get go...

To me this seems like the same kind of no brain tv that you can watch and just not even bother using your brain. But not in a fun and amusing way like The Good Guys, but in a "wow this is so stupid and if my brain was active it might kill itself" kind of way. But we will see what happens in the coming weeks.

I don't get the feeling it will even last 13 episodes.

I was semi-enternained like many posters above have stated. It's too bad, Heroes got cancelled for this.

I'll still give it a try because Summer Glau is in the show! :0

Ok I've intentionally stayed away from this thread so as to not influence how I view this. I know some people thought the trailer was corny or something, but I haven't read a single review or anything on this.

Here's my initial thoughts after the 1st episode.

I like it. Not as cheesy with the one liners as I was afraid it might be. There's some eye rolling moments, but nothing too bad. And I actually laughed at the final line of the 1st episode when
[Show spoiler]the gun store owner asked what they call him, and he said "The Cape" and the guy was like, "Eh, you'll work on it". I
thought that was funny.

I thought that
[Show spoiler]Max was gonna die and the whole carnival aspect would go away, leaving just Cape and Orwell,
but maybe not. Haven't seen the 2nd episode so it might still end up that way.

[Show spoiler]I don't know how they will incorporate him in each week. Perhaps just as the mentor to Cape.

his "death" scene was a bit much. Actually it was alright, but the last bit was the biggest eye roller.

Oh and shock of all shockers that
[Show spoiler]James Frain would be a bad guy.
Gee, couldn't see that coming, huh?

Plus the episode had some decent one liners.
[Show spoiler]"Say hello to Dorothy, b*tch!"
lol.

On to the second episode now. I have a feeling there will be people who will hate this show just because they feel obligated to, but I don't see anything wrong with it.

Watching Episode 2 now...some thoughts.

1. I love Keith David. Aside from having quite possibly the greatest line in movie history under his belt, he's got a fantastic voice as well and is a really good actor. He does a lot of questionable movies, but he's always golden.

2. ohhhhhhhh the snake motherf*cker is still pretending he was Vince's friend. Talking to his wife and shit.

After reading some of the comments, I have to make one statement.

For the love of GOD people, it's a COMIC BOOK SHOW! Talking about "oh that would never happen" or "how realistic is this?"

It's a bleeping Comic Book show! If you're HONESTLY debating realism and deducting points because something doesn't seem realistic, you're completely mental and do not deserve to even chime in.

No offense. lol
