Hello, I am a newbie on this forum. I am french.
My query : On one hand I bought a Sharp BD-HP20S which works wonderful and an a second hand I bought a Canon HV20 I am trying to burn BD of the recorded vidéo with my camcorder, in a first time on normal DVD (waiting a significant price decrease for the BD Burner), doing the video with Pinnacle Studio 11. Every things works fine but at the end the DVD is not recognised by the Sharp Question to Pinnacle: what about this fact answer : perhaps your Sharp is only able to read 1080-60p and most probably your video is a 1080-50p, try to create a 1080-60p or wait for an firmware upgrade (it seems that Toshiba reader are only able to read 1080 or 1440 or 720-60p, the 50p will be introduced by a firmware update in the near future) I created a 1080-60p but not recognised by the Sharp I went on the notice where it is written that de HDMI output is 1080p 24Herz I wrote to Sharp support : no answer as of to day. I am a little bit lost. Does someone has any idea about the possibilities of the sharp (1080 or 1440 or 720) 1080-50p 1080-60p 1080-24p Last edited by Czmax; 01-14-2008 at 09:37 AM. |

Same advice, but my question is on a different subject, the DVD I am trying to read is not a downgraded DVD . It is a BD format written on a normal DVD

I just got this player a few days ago free with my 42" Aquos. This is my 2nd BR player. I have to admit...I like it better than my Sony BDP-300.
Loading times are faster, sleeker looking, menus more responsive, quieter than most BR players. |

There you go. Did Anyone with a sharp player realize that they have to enable quick start int the players settings menu? |

I just purchased the above machine. It looks like a really nice unit for the price with great reviews.
My question is with all the different sound formats will this player be able to play them all through my Lexicon MC12? Are the Blu-ray sound tracks a function of the Blu-ray player or the surround decoder? Relative to all players (I almost bought the Pioneer Elite) until I discovered a new model is coming someday soon, (Pioneer Elite BDP-05FD), are they all able to play all the various sound formats? I am somewhat confused about compatibility features of the Blu-ray disk, the players, and the surround processors. Will someone explain this to me? Thanks |

I am by no means an expert but I will share a problem I had and my understanding of your issues. The Blu Ray disk has the audio encodings which always includes Dolby Digital 5.1 and sometimes DTS. The player will output these encodings but your receiver has to be able to translate them. That is if your receiver will handle 5.1 DD, you should get that sound. If it will do DTS and you choose that from the menu on the disk, you get the DTS.
The problem I had was that the audio output in the setup was defaulted to PCM and I was not getting DD 5.1. It was maddening until I read the instructions and realized I needed to have it set to Bitstream. Now, I can get DD 5.1 or DTS. The other issue I have run into is the disk menu that has an uncompressed 5.1. I'm not sure what that is but it doesn't work on my receiver. Good luck with the player. I love mine. |
