Default AVP-R reviews not looking good....

Ok so now 3 reviews coming in are saying it is a step up to Paul Anderson pg-13 avp but not enough to warrant being a good movie. I was afraid of this....usually when they won't preview the movie for the press it is a bad sign. What a bummer, and this is coming to blu too.

First of all, I never enjoyed Part 1 and thought that was a terrible movie as well and shoud've never been put on blu. So the outcome of the sequel will be worse

Well I don't listen to reviewers...

It is what I think of the movie that matters.

Hey, some of us really *enjoyed* AVP -- it's a guilty pleasure for many of us so-called film critic types.

So if the new one is indeed a "step up" that's good news indeed. (Don't forget -- "Independence Day" is also a pretty crummy film, when measured by the standards of good film making, plot, commonsense, acting. But it's a lot of fun to watch).

What I saw was 1 review from a critic and 2 reviews from fans.

Exactly. I don't listen to reviews anymore either unless they are OVERWHELMING. I use my judgement.

I can't wait to see this one and see how it is. I won't not see it because some idiot says HE did not like it.

I fully expect this film to be B movie nonsense...just like the first film.

Can't wait to see it!

I liked AVP more than predator 2 and alien 3 and 4. the pop up track on the bd. made it that much more interesting. i'm going to see avp-r the day after xmas. hope its good. I saw the 5 minute preview and it looked pretty good to me.

Just as bad. Just because a fan says "blueray dvds suk cuz teh PQ is bad" doesn't actually mean that Blu-Ray discs actually have bad PQ.

That's a complete dramatization of course, but you get my point.

Personally I never bother with reviews at all... I prefer to make my own mind up. A lot of reviewers are pretentious pr*cks in my opinion. They just want themselves to appear more intelligent than they are. Self appointed arbiters of taste are to be avoided.

Remember in the "old days" when Ridley Scott was one of the only directors to publicly abdmit that he made TV commercials. Just about every movie he made for years afterwards he was accused in the reviews of making it look like a commercial!!!

Reviews are based on several factors.. the number one being whether the person viewing the film personally LIKES IT. If they don't the film gets a bad review period.

The other factors are eye candy and blah blah blah. A big example is if Lucas makes another Star Wars film - wanna bet that film gets RAVE reviews BEFORE it even hits the screen?

It's all biased and a waste to start with

I'm going to hopefully see it tomorrow.

AVP was okay, but not on the level of the first Predator or first 2 Aliens.

I usually don't follow reviews, especially reviews of random people on the internet. And that's because the internet has turned into a place where's it "cool" to think everything sucks.

Yes and too many people have opinions and BLOGS. Makes me wanna barf on the person that came up with the idea of idiots sharing their ideas with other idiots and giving that idea a name called BLOGS!

Ick! Too bad they don't make a pesticide for that.
