My opinion is that with the PS3, you get almost the same thing (shy of the HD audio FOR NOW) for around the same price with the amazing convenience of wireless internet built-in for upgrades (no messing with burning CDs or trying to find your USB stick and making sure that your file structure on the USB stick is set up properly... yada yada yada) and several other useful devices all in one bundle for an insanely good price if you were to buy all features of the PS3 in seperate units.

Personally, I'm happy to live without HD Audio for a little while longer in trade for the amazing abilities of my PS3.

If the PS3 could bitstream audio it would but it cannot.

Now it should be able to do decoding of DTS HD MA at some point but when is the question. There is not a standalone on the market that can do it. And following the current trend of giving a standalone a few months to sell. We are looking at March maybe later until that happens.

And if you look at the persons post buring a CD will not be a big deal to them. So that aruement is a loss for this person.

You might be willing to trade audio for awhile but they donot have to and should not have to. Which is why I said go with the 30.
