I waited a while, watched the Die Hard set drop from $129 everywhere to $98 at Wal-Mart. Went to get it, it was $89! So I was looking for more life, giving rain, nothing else was around, and wandered down the aisle.
There is Hard-Boiled in straight DVD. I thought, hey, that's got to be a classic release, it will come out - checked the box - and it's a Weinstein company DVD. No joy. Came home, looked it up to see what was happening, and some Wikipedia entry says that there is a full length, "hi-def" version of the complete film on the PS3 game "Stranglehold". I can't get my arms around this. All I can figure is that the game was in production, and somehow they optioned it from Weinstein. I have no idea of the transfer quality, and the Wiki entry states that you can do diddly with it - no fast forward, even. Anybody know anything about this? I don't have a PS3, no clue what's happening. |
