Movie Posters Discussion Thread - Page 45 - Blu-ray Forum

I'm burning through my tax return. Was able to grab a Jeff Proctor "Zombie", Ken Taylor "Maniac" and Silent Giants "Der Golem" posters for Alamo Drafthouse.

I might need a portfolio to start putting these in. Anyone have experience with one that will hold 24x36 paper nicely?

I know they make art portfolios that basically will hold that size, there are also the Ultra-Pro semi-rigid PVC plastic sleeves which come in a few sizes, 24x36 is one of them. Some prints slide in easy that are the same size, while others because they are that size tend to require extra effort and you can damage the prints if you force them too hard. They aren't acid-free, but clear PVC plastic, still though they are nice for storing them flat. Contact me via private message if you need more info on them if you want.

If you like David Lynch films PhoneBooth Gallery is doing a 5 print series with different artists. Ryan Milner's Blue Velvet was released this morning. I know Kevin Tong (amazing) is doing one too. Blue Velvet, Lost Highway, Dune, Eraserhead and Wild at Heart. I'm in for BV and will go for Lost Highway when that comes out.

Did anyone on Cinema Overdrive's mailing list get the James Rheem Davis Evil Dead 2 posters? I sent payment for both copies Friday AM but haven't received a confirmation from James yet.

James Rheem Davis has been on fire lately!

househead, those look awesome. I was so tempted to pick those up but funds were low after picking up a 40" LED TV. Would love to see those in person, bet they look amazing. Great score!

I know he gets pretty busy with his work and I believe he also has another job but he does process orders as he can, and I think he had family in town recently or still does.

Did you get confirmation that you were one of the chosen ones before you sent payment?

Same here but I couldn't pass up an ED2 piece from him.

I think I'm good to go and got in before the variant sold out.

Thanks man! I'm limited to hanging posters in my office room which isn't very large. My g/f won't let me hang them anywhere else lol I can probably squeeze another 2 to 3 in here though

Frame and mount her to the wall then =P.. . I have my NOES2 poster in the living room, a Metallica flag, and then she put up an Iron Maiden flag

Her only real gripe was "If I can't see anymore wall, there's too many" =P

I've been thinking about getting all three but I haven;t decided yet. I got a second shipment from DisneyRewards on the TRON Legacy poster and it has some small tears again.

Not much I can do though. That's why I'm considering buying the other three.

hi guys, any recommendation for good frames. I looked at moviegoods (Deluxe Wood Frames with Matting) & Hollywood posters (Marquis Frame). am I missing something better?? can you post a pic if you have one of the above mentioned frames??

I wish custom framing wasn't so much. Just got some quotes for my new posters, $290+ taxes from a custom framing shop with a 40% off coupons for a single mat and steel frame, $260+ taxes from michaeals with a 65% off coupon. I also got a quote from Michaels for triple matting at $290, it looked really sharp, I'm leaning that way. That's a per poster cost, so over $600 for framing!

That was with dry mounting, acid free matting and Anti-glare glass.
