Oak Harbor, WA
Default Northwest Walmart

Well this is my second post. Let me expand a little on what I said earlier. I have just returned from my local Walmart. I did validate that they do not currently carry any Blu titles, and have increased their HD DVD titles. My Walmart is in Oak Harbor, WA on Whidbey Island (Navy town). This time I asked what was the reason they no longer carried Blu Disks. They said they had had a high level of theft of Blu Ray disks in the Marysville store (Norht of Everett) and that Walmart had pulled all BD from Walmart shelves in the area until they can get a locked case like they do with games.

I must admit, I am a little disappointed about the response I got from my first post. I have been a "lurker" on this site since the beginning of October. At that time I had decided to enter the HD world and after a lot of reaserch had decide on BLU. I bought a 80 GB PS3 the first week of October and since have bought more than 85 BLU disks. I have a 700+ SD DVD library and would like to replace with HD.

I bought a Sony Home Theatre System (lower-end) with 3 HDMI inputs last month. I have my PS3 and my Direct TV HD DVR hooked up to it and have been looking for a stand-alone to complete the set-up. I watched the price of players come down through the holidays, but am waiting for the CES results before pulling the trigger...I have in fact considered going neutral as my major motivation is to replace my SD library and am by nature impatient.

I have enjoyed lurking on this site and considered myself a strong BLU supporter, but as others have found, not a very welcoming site unfortunately...I had thought you might want to know on the "Walmart Blu exclusive" thread that the store here was the opposite.
