One thing that I am wondering about with the CGI is when you look at the trailer for some movies like Transformers, the CGI for the trailer is perfect. The rest of the movie might still have a lot of work to be done, but the trailer looks flawless. That seems to be a good technique because it doesn't worry people. I am wondering if the VFX seen thus far are the best they can show or if the movie looks like that as a whole. Just a thought. |

I thoroughly love the mask still, but the skin concept still doesn't seem right. If the costume is a construct of the Green Lantern's imagination, why would a pilot come up with that design? Or rather, why would he imagine that TEXTURE? It looks like some insane combination of human and fish musculature. Wouldn't he imagine a texture more akin to some sort of Earthly material rather than some sort of mutant musculature? And I imagine that all of the Green Lanterns will have similar "skin" suits? Is it an enforced uniform to use that strange skin texture in the suit's construct? I always figured that the only "enforced" part of the "uniform" was that it had to be prominently green and have the emblem somewhere on it.
Interesting note: his toes seem to at least semi-visible, rather than being a flat "boot" shape. Strange choice, I guess, but I kind of like it. If the suit fits over his fingers like a glove, it makes sense that it'd also fit over his toes like a glove... Even though that does raise the question of his butt and crotch... Another forum I frequent had some people complaining about the toes, but it's no big deal to me. In fact, I've been thinking of getting a pair of vibram five fingers shoes, and I've thought about what it'd be like to see superheroes wearing similar footwear. For someone like Spider-man or Nightwing, I think it'd be a cool, functional design choice. For Green Lantern, it seems less functional, but I'm still down with it. |

I hate that the toes are visible. Not many barefoot male super heroes out there in bare feet. This isn't Tarzan!

I'm just thinking it's strange, unless he wasn't wearing shoes to begin with. I'd imagine that the suit would fit over his shoes instead of making them disappear.

It has been hard to tell what to expect the final suit to look like. It seems like the suit looks different or has different features in every trailer and photo released. It almost makes me wonder if they are just trying things and gauging peoples reactions.
I'm cool with the suit and the look of the film. There are a bunch of talented people working on the film and their interpretation seems different from the comic which I don't mind as they are designing for film and not what looks good on paper. |

I didn't notice the toes in the trailer either. Hopefully they are just in the promo photos. The last trailer was great and I'm really looking forward to this one.

I also am not a fan of the toes being formed from the suit. Most of the concept of the suit looks good to me, but I am still not convinced that going wholly digital was the right choice. I think having practical suit with some VFX accompaniment would have been the best way to go. Almost every shot in the recent footage is not totally convincing with his suit. The only shot that look real good to me was right at the end just before he shoots whatever out of his ring. I really hope I am wrong because a suit that is not 100% convincing will really distract me from the film.

Saw an extended trailer on USA network last night and all I can say is WOW. I'm not a comic book guy at all but the trailer looked really good. I didn't notice his toes being there as it looked like he had boots on with his suit. Maybe they are just there in the concept art stuff
