Default Place your bets poll - Transformers BD release month

Place your bet as to when you think Transformers will hit BD. Let's face it, the HD DVD sales will be decreasing as the year goes on so Dreamworks will be faced with the need to go BD at some point... when do you think that will be? Which month with Transformers hit BD?

Note that this is a public poll. (I am running with April)

I'll say... Oct. 2008. I'm torn; I like what Michael Bay has said about Blu-ray recently, but the aftertaste of Paramount's decision is still sour. Maybe when I'm impulse buying.

Depends how quicky they opt out of their contract. Universal will make a move first, then Paramount will emmediatly reconfig their situation. Toshiba might even pull the plug on this far quicker than anyone can possibly beleive at this point. The war is over. BD is the dominant HDM choice. There is nothing left to spin at this point. Game over, so toshiba may decide to end it sooner to cut their losses and not loose anymore money.

I think it all depends on what happens with WB. & the fact is Paramount is in a contract for 18 months supposedly, how many months has it been so far ?? Transformers AVC with PCM would definitely be in my Blu-ray collection, as it was in HDDVD with VC-1 & DD+ but seeing it like that there was definitely alot to be desired with PQ & AQ & AVC/PCM could fix that right up

I have boycotted Paramount since their stupid decision; however, if they go back to bluray, and it looks like they must, then I will end my boycott.

My guess is: July....probably the 1st of July.

Depends if they manage to wiggle out of their contract...

I voted October 2008.

Alternate theorie: Transformers 2 is coming out June 26th 2009 (unless the writters strike messes them up) and I think that March 2009 might also be a big possibility as it would be 3 months before the release of the sequel and would serve to hype the 2nd movie (additional exclusives + exclusive previews etc...) and it would also fall just outside the 18 month window.

As a fan of the movie and a fan of seeing hot as hell Megan Fox in High def I want to say right away but unless Paramount opts out who knows when we will see it.

I think it will be the first Blu release when Paramount returns. I think they will be back in the summer, so August 2008.
