Natalie was HORRIBLE???!!! Wow, you're the FIRST person in This thread to utter anything like that about her in this role.

That's because you're all guys. She was bland, and boring, and just plain dull. She's looked much better in other films too.

Ummm, that has nothing to do with why I posted what I did. Yea, she's pretty but there's a million pretty actresses out there.

The second time around, I actually paid more attention to Natalie Portman. I would not say she was horrible or even bad. She was a little bland and of course not very developed as a character, but with what little she had, I think she did well. I think she delivered one or two lines in weird ways ("Oh. My. God."), but nothing I would call bad.

Too each their own though. Acting can be somewhat subjective. I tend to think of Natalie Portman as a great actress, but I am not so biased as to say her actin in the Star Wars movies was good.

I majorly disagree, Portman wasn't boring and dull. I actually thought she was a bit more of a fresh of breath air, with her being more understanding of Thor instead of the typical Fish out of Water stuff. She could of been more developed and had more to do, yes, but bland and boringcome on

I thought Natalie Portman was good her character just didn't have much to do. It's a big superhero movie I don't expect Black Swan performance. Of the 3 main actresses of the Marvel films she's the best imo.

Went two times last weekend and will be going a third time tonight. I actually really enjoyed it (stay away from the 3d showings) the second time. The first time I was in a time crunch and the 3d glasses were aggravating me. It was a solid entry into the marvel films catalog.

4.5/5

gave it a 4. not a hard 4 but a solid 4. first off, the theater sucked. i swear the surround rights were not working. my friends didnt notice when i mentioned it later. anyway, i was going to complain but whatever. man, thats what im pissed about most. the damn theater sound sucked, and usually it knocks my socks off. i think i shoulda saw this digital since the print was in pretty rough shape.

the movie itself was good. i liked portman. her character was simple and she was cute doin it. but i will admit
[Show spoiler]by the third or fourth "flirt session" i began to tire of the smiles back and forth. thought they need a bigger action set piece in the middle. something was amiss with the asgard footage. mayb it was meant to look blurry. when is marvel going to blow me away with too much action. dont know whats better? wanting more action, or getting too much.
thought it was the funniest marvel movie yet. definite epicness on blu. i dont see movies twice in the theater so this will be a most looked forward to purchase.

Default "THOR" - $317M Worldwide (Est.) after this wk-end.

Per BOX OFFICE MOJO, THOR, #1 again this wk-end, is just under $318M Worldwide. With $119,252,000 Domestic & $198,415,148, THOR's total is now at an estimated $317,667,148. Exact final weekend numbers should be out Tuesday morning.

With an above-average hold, Thor easily repeated at the top of the box office over the weekend. Bridesmaids settled for second place, though its opening was impressive for an R-rated comedy with no proven talent in front of the camera. The weekend's other newcomer Priest didn't fare as well, opening behind many comparable titles. Overall box office was off around five percent from last year, when Iron Man 2 held on to first place.

Thor dipped 48 percent to an estimated $34.5 million to bring its ten-day total to $119.3 million. Its percentage drop was much smaller than the last two summer starters (Iron Man 2 and X-Men Origins: Wolverine), and it also outperformed The Incredible Hulk and Clash of the Titans. Its fall was also about even with the first Iron Man, albeit with a much lower total gross. If Thor continues to track like Tony Stark's first outing, it could close at around $200 million.

Those foreign totals aren't up to date

The worldwide total is just under $350M now.

If it's profitable they'll green light the sequel (which they are already brainstorming on a story). The rule of thumb for break even is usually 2.5 (ish) times the production budget for a rough estimate. So that would be $375M, it is just about to that.

It'll possibly finish near $500M (or if Pirates doesn't impact it as much as I think it will, above that).

I have no idea how much money it would need to make, but during the film I was thinking, there is going to be a sequel. It needs a sequel imo.

I'm sure they will, sometime after THE AVENGERS (2013-2015 maybe?)
