In plain English 76% of all hd dvd players sold do not support 1080p. Those are Novembers numbers so I am sure they're off but not by much.

Remember my saying: People who love technology buy Blu-Ray, people who are cheap buy hd dvd.

That's is the reason most hd dvd are 1080i
