i usually dont wait for sets with all included because i like collecting the individual ones. it's also nice watching the collection grow. these set literally take up half a shelf. it seems risky waiting for a complete set because they'll probably scrap all the extra stuff and just throw in the fold out with the discs in it.

Plus, these things are more durable than the regular BD versions of these films, meaning they will be protected longer than the standard versions. These things also look amazing when set on a shelf, which helps with presentation of ur overall Blu-ray collection. Overall, these Ultimate Editions rock!! Long Live Harry Potter!!
I didn't realize that durability was one of the main selling points of these sets. I will need to see how these Ultimate Editions stand up to flooding and tornadoes as those are the more common disasters in my area. Maybe then they will actually be worth the large price tags they place on them.

Wouldn't insurance cover that? No matter what versions of the movies u have, I think a tornado or flood will destroy them, unless of course u have them in a safe.

They were all reauthored using Warner's current tools, and those encode in DTS-MA.

Same exact track, except you can't use Night Mode now.

Sad no extended version since 1 & 2 but still purchased them all. Here is a guess, The Ultimate Edition of the last movie will be Part 1 and Part 2 in one, but now that I think of it, that wont happen as they want more $$$

I hope they do release extended versions but I hope they now wait since I am collecting all these ones. at least a few years after they have all come out

I'm very anal about uniformity, so this is it. It's really so hard to keep the same box style? First, they changed the slipbox, not really a big deal, just remove it and they look the same... but no more extended editions. Now they change the box size, and only 2 discs. I'll buy the barebones releases and try to sell the UEs. I'm really angry, I'm from Argentina so I had to import them, which costed about $70 per movie

wow. just wow. i guess you don't buy tv shows on dvd or bd then? there's never uniformity there. look at smallville or one tree hill. they really don't look bad next to each other. i thought the last batch was more drastic with the new slip and the lenticular.

I understand "anal" as much as the next guy, and I am sure we all have our pet peeves here, but you must admit that's pretty absurd. We shouldn't always give in to our irrational quirks.

Look at the Ultimate editions as you would look the books. Each has its own different number of pages and, hence, different spine width. You don't need all your books to be the same size, do you? Even if they belong to a single series, like Harry Potter.

there is a design difference on the spine of six. where the first five are solid colors hbp has an 'old page' texture.

Saw Order of the Phoenix Ultimate Edition at Wal-Mart for $30. Not bad for that big ass box!

Given that LOTR EEs was split in two Blu-Ray discs, theoretically would they be able to fit Deathly Hallows on one Blu-Ray disc with no loss in picture quality or would it still be too big?

A lot of us got HBP for about $23 w/shipping due to a Amazon Pricing Mistake. Also, while Target currently has both 5 and 6 "on sale" for $34.95 -- Best Buy has only price matched HBP. Since BB currently has a $5.00 off coupon for any BD over $14.99, I know a lot of people are holding out hope that BB will PM Target on OotP.

So I think those are the big reasons most are picking up HBP and have yet to get OotP, I know that's the boat I'm currently it. Worse case I'll manually PM target and then use the $10.00 I have in reward/gift certs, but I'm hoping BB PMs Target itself so I can get an additional $5.00 off (which would knock my price down to $19.95)

I'm not. I preordered 5&6 from Columbia House (when they had a pricing mistake/sale on all HP titles) for $20 each. They just haven't arrived yet.
