actually I much preferred this director's cut--- and it's all due to the ending. The cheesy last minute "shock" in the theatrical cut is gone which is a good thing.
Also it has the scene with Tom Atkins walking down the street

[Show spoiler]after getting blown up and collapsing on the pavement with all those slug things jumping out of his mouth...

This is well worth getting!
