I suggest you go back and look at post #39 and #40 for the turn in tone of this thread. This discussion was going fine until you and your friends decided to turn this into 'whose turn is it to call Spike Lee a racist'. Don't you dare try to turn this on me. And I mentioned the other forum because contrary to your beliefs there are other message boards out there besides this. That isn't the point that I should stay over I was just mentioning how ON TOPIC and completely opposite the tone is about the same subject, Lee and Oldboy. You want to talk about Lee and Oldboy, fine. You want to talk about Lee and his movies fine. You want to talk about Lee and his views on society and whether you think he is a racist. Take that nonsense somewhere else or create another topic on just that. As for you, you don't know what you are talking about and you never really have on this board. You act like because you post some links to articles that you own this board and you can say and do whatever you want. All you are is some pile on and jump on the bandwagon poster. they are all completely unrelated except for the theme of revenge. you dont need to see them in order or anything. i do recommend checking them all out however. Sympathy for Mr Vengeance is really good as well, its just not a movie i can watch often. its extremely dark, depressing, and intense.

As said by other members they share similiar themes but are different stories.

I personally preferred Sympathy for Mr. Vengence out of the 3. Oldboy being 2nd. I enjoyed all 3 films and feel they should all be viewed.

Well it's not like any of those movies are the feel good happy movie of the year, lol. They are all dark, depressing and intense, but yes I would say Vengeance probably more so.

I just watched Old Boy the other day. The origional is a REALLY good movie. I'm not one of those who thinks that remakes are evil, however, and would be interested to see someone elses take on the story. That being said, I'm not really a Spike Lee fan, so most likely wouldn't check out a remake directed by Mr. Lee. My .02

Spike Lee To Direct 'Oldboy' For Mandate Pictures

OLDBOY tells the story of a man who is kidnapped and imprisoned on his daughter’s birthday. For fifteen years, he is held captive, and, upon his release, must begin his journey to find the reason for his imprisonment. He soon finds out that his kidnapper has plans for him more tortuous than his solitary confinement. The original film, released in 2003, directed by Chan-wook Park won the Grand Prize Jury Award at the 2004 Cannes Film Festival.

Spike Lee and Mark Protosevich are represented by CAA. Dan Freedman, SVP of business affairs, negotiated the deals for Mandate.

The titles for me which are untouchable are The Godfather, Back to the Future, The Crow and Stand By Me. But I do agree that this shouldn't be remade.

LotR, the first two Star Wars, Harry Potter and others are untouchable as well.

I have only seen the LOTR and Star Wars movies once, but I couldn't imagine those being remade, they are too worshiped and a remake might get people killed. I've never seen a Harry Potter film though. Right there with you on the horror stuff, why not. I wasn't a fan of any of the original stuff, with the exception of Halloween, but far as I'm concerned all horror movies are fair game. I'm very much looking forward to the Conan and Spidey reboots, bring em!

I'd read the books for Potter. I LOVE the films, but the first two are very kiddy and become harder to sit through as time goes on. And the books are fantastic.

And heck yeah to spidey!
