Such a colossal waste of time. The government wasted millions trying to prosecute Bonds and Clemens and all they got was Bonds on one very minor count. I can't stand either guy but these trials were complete nonsense.

There's always a couple of certainties in the American League:

1.) Between the Yankees and Redsox one will win the division and one will win the wild card.
2.) The Twins will start the season off miserably and then turn it around completely in the second half to win the division.

It happens nearly every year.

Sports by Brooks says MLB is talking with AEG, the company that owns the Staples Center and is interested in building an NFL stadium, about building a downtown stadium for the Dodgers. In addition to the Dodgers Frank McCourt owns Dodgers Stadium and even if MLB were to strip the Dodgers from McCourt there is no way for them to take the stadium from McCourt, and MLB wants nothing to do with McCourt so this could be a way for MLB to cease any business with McCourt if he isn't willing to sell the stadium.

That should just about do it for Minnesota's beleaguered "stopper," who is now the not-so-proud owner of a 4.76 ERA through his first 39 2/3 innings over 38 appearances this season. Rather amazingly, his most recent strikeout came on June 27, which was nine appearances and 7 2/3 innings ago. Joe Nathan is a good bet to take the mound in the Twins' next save situation.

Whoopee...Clemens won 2 Cy Youngs up here and we all know he was juiced. We didn't win a division or 3rd WS so who cares. Regardless of the outcome of his trial, we ALL know he shot up. I'm more concerned with our 5 game winning streak (should be 6) and outscoring "The Skanks" 23-8 in 2 games.....GO JAYS.

Come on man, he's been garbage this season. A .222 batting average and .325 on base%? He's one of the worst players I've seen selected to an All-Star game in some time.

Hold on, one thing at a time. Bonds curse is a two parter. Yes the Pirates haven't made the Playoffs since Bonds left but more importantly they haven't had a winning season since he left.

Bonds curse? I always considered it the Sid Bream curse. It was his blazing speed that put the Braves over the top in 1992. Seems like only yesterday he was jogging around the bases to beat the weak throw home. Hard to believe that was 19 years ago. In any case my guess if Pittsburgh finishes over .500 but does not win the Central. At least they're finally building something though. That is assuming ownership doesn't get stingy and tear the team apart yet again.
