It seems like he puts something animated in every one of his posts. Many members think he's like 13 and it annoys them beyond belief.

Soooooooooo....

We sometimes get advance screening tickets sent to our store, and this morning we got an extra treat...

Universal sent us passes for The Thing prequel, but also sent us two posters and a box full of The Things mints. lol.

Now the posters are double sided, but one is for The Thing and the other is for Battleship. I think they messed up. Unfortunately they are both slightly damaged from shipping! Arg!!

I'll post some pics later.

I figured because he didn't get a direct answer when he wanted it that he put some sort of voodoo curse on me. LOL!

Yeah my friend's comic book store last week received a box of the mints along with bags that she can place a customer's comics in and about a dozen passes for an advance screening here in Seattle on Tuesday the 11th. No posters though, just a box of mints, bags, and passes.

I have a question I was hoping someone could answer. I have a 27 x 40 Lenticular poster for Speed Racer. I was thinking it might fit in my backlit poster box. The poster seems to have a white film on the back, does anyone know if you put it in the light box with this film on or if it's meant to be removed. Thanks in advance guys!

I believe the lenticulars have a thin film placed on the front and back of them to protect the plastic material from being scratched in transit, it sounds like the plastic film was removed from the front (I assume it was displayed in a theater, correct?) but the film wasn't removed from the back. Yes, you should easily be able to simply peel off the film coating.

Thanks! I would assume it was meant to go in a lightbox right? It is quite thick though, so I am not sure if it would fit in mine! I actually got it directly from WB!

Yes lenticulars especially are designed to go into theater light boxes. With regards to that lenticular though, and a few others such as the one for Alice in Wonderland, its really not the type that moves when you walk by like the Lost World one was, and others like it. Surprised you got it from WB, were they selling them to the general public? That would be surprising if they were...

This one does move when you move side to side. No I have someone I know who works at WB and he got it for me. I really liked Speed Racer (Apparently I am one of the few)

There is only one lenticular for that film that I know of, and it is the same imagery as the standard movie poster, a close-up shot of the helmet being held by Speed, and the car in the background. I wasn't aware that it moved any, some lenticulars are just for depth, layers upon layers, like the Depp style for Alice in Wonderland. I am a huge Speed Racer fan but of the original cartoon series. A few years ago I picked up the complete manga series boxed set but have not opened it to read it. The movie wasn't awful, it just wasn't as good as it could have been. Still, Chrstina Ricci made for a really fine Trixie.

It definitely has depth, but when you move left to right, it looks like the car and the helmet are following you. I guess I will stick it up and see how it looks!

Yes that probably does happen on that poster, but if you really want to see a lenticular move, The Lost World does it big time.

Cool, are they the 27x40 ones, or the British quads? I bought my first british quad a couple of months ago for my dad... it looks great in his theatre, I really like the Kill Bill quads and the Inglorious Basterds quad.
