Default Covering and disguising cables.

Hey everybody,
I'm new here and wanted to introduce myself....
I've just joined the ranks of the proud Blu-Ray owners with my recent PS3 purchase. I've just begun the process of building a home theater.
Surrounding the viewing area will be two rear speakers so speaker wire will be traveling across the floor to connect to the receiver.
I was wondering are there any ideas or places for me to go to conceal the exposed speaker wire on the floor.
Obviously it would be an improvement aesthetically, and also a safety precaution to prevent tripping and injury.
Thanks in advance guys.

My sugestion is to run them against the wall or by covering them with the molding on the ground.

I use flat speaker wire which work great under carpet or throw rugs. They ain't cheap but they are quality.

You find good deals on gently used at audiogon.com. I think with the Christmas season A/V buying sprees, their selection is kinda low.

Hit www.nordost.com if you want a closer look.

You can use wiremold, a product found in any Home Depot's electrical department. However, it can become somewhat expensive, but an option worth exploration...

If you own your home, think about pulling wire through walls and ceilings. Sheetrock is very, very cheap, easy to fix and then you have a permanent, very attractive solution. At the same time, you can run phone lines and Cat5 cable to the same location, where they will be needed eventually.

As an aside, having caller ID on your satellite receiver is totally cool.

strewn beer cans work well.

Female undergarments are preferred though

I hid mine under the floor by drilling holes through the floor. Nothing to trip over
