I remember watching the original as a kid....It didn't give off a nostalgic feeling....

I like Rob Zombie's style of directing...he did Devil's Rejects well and Halloween as well..

I'm not talking about comparing it to the original...what was he going to do, re-make the movie exactly as it was?....

he gave a reason as to why he snapped and the problem is that the potential to go crazy was already there...

as I said...I liked it and would love to see it on Blu..

Now I'm intrigued. I had no intention of getting this on BD due to all of the negative posts in the past, but I will definitely pick it up on BD when it comes out.

I went and watched it on day one and came out of the theater with a smile. I loved the remake and I thought the stuff with him as a kid was awsome because it answered some big questions people had about Michael Myers. I am a huge horror fan and bought the DVD on day one so yes I will buy it on Blu-ray when its released as well.

it was like having Die Hard without John.... but instead his next door neighbor. i couldn't sit through it. It didn't have the "feel" of the others so it didn't mesh with the Halloween universe IMO.

understandable...I looked at it from another perspective is all..

I didn't even recall much about the previous Halloween movies because it's been so long....so I didn't really have any expectations set..

Rob Zombie said he didnt want it to be just like the older ones, because everyone already knew that story and when you remake a original you want a little of the same but a lot more new.

Uh, sorry...but I just didn't like the back story and the whole idea of remaking Halloween. Part of what made the first one scary at the time was Micheal was just an average kid who just went nuts.

I agree with this review, though:

MAN, I hope he's a fan of the SF Giants... If not, he makes NY Giants fans like me look very bad.
