For anybody who wondered if that was really Amir's thread, I believe it was created mostly because of him originally and it went away just after he became retired/unemployed. Could have been largely moderator decisions or recommendations that led to that though.

I guess closing the thread was AVS's version of this:

My favorite insider discussion ever was Darinp2 taking Amir to task over hd-dvd's bitrate and Amir's contention that only the currently playing audio/video/whatever counted against that bitrate. It was one of the first time's Amir ever got put in his place over there.

Or it could have been because they got tired of it being used as a soapbox for people like Amir and Vaughn to spread FUD about Blu-ray?
