I think eventually we'll see everything that is currently on DVD being available on Blu, if only for the simple reason that studios love to double dip! Sure, the lower profile cult classics will take longer than those that appeal to wider audiences, but they will come. (Personally, I'd love to see the opening sequence of Silent Running on Blu.)

Definitely think everything will be replaced, we already have dozens of catalog titles, new releases always come out Blu, and for the more obscure titles? Think of it this way: we have anime from the 80's, nature documentaries, travel DVDs, and Girls Gone Wild on Blu...I find it hard to believe pretty much everything won't be blu at one point in time.

I think you have exactly the right interpritation of what will happen there.

It's not even just movie studeos. I LOVE Nintendo but how many times have they released the original Metriod? hmmm:
  1. Origonal Metroid release on the NES
  2. Bonus for connecting Metroid Prime to Metroid Fusion via link cable
  3. NES Classics Series
  4. Remake on the GBA as Zero Mission
  5. Wii Virtual Console

Also I was sure they had it as a hidden item in Animal Crossing but I may be wrong there.

They also re-released Super Mario Bros and Legend of Zelda a bunch of times.

I hope I can rebuy all of my favourite movies on Blu. If there are ones I can't, and I don't like them all that much, I'll probably just sell the DVDs and do without. I don't own anything TOO obscure, but I expect I'll have to hang on to one or two DVDs for 5 years or more while writing angry letters to the distribution company telling them to get Bluifiing!

Edit:

Speaking of Nintendo, I soo hope they remaster The Super Mario Bros. Super Show and The Legend of Zelda (TV Series) That would totally
